Moon Fog Prophet

   The 1999 Moon Fog Prophet album is listed on the site under the name "When They Opened Their Parachutes" but the actual title is "When They Opened Their Parachutes... Silence". 

I have a question to ammend to my correction. Moon Fog Prophet began an alter-ego band in 2001 called Kuusumun Profeetta. Should the albums under this name be put in the Moon Fog Prophet discography, or do i need to go through the process of adding a new artist to the database and then add those albums?

	The album title fixed. Concerning the Moon Fog Prophet/Kuusumun Profeetta problem, it's a question I've been thinking about a lot myself. Musically they're two different bands, despite basically having the same name and same members. What's your personal opinion regarding this?

	I think they should be added as a different band as I find them to make really different types of music. Moon Fog Prophet really have a spacey sound with a strong early VDGG influence. Kuusumun Profeetta I'd describe more as an art rock even symphonic in terms of Meddle era Floyd. So I think seperating them would be a wise decision.

	Yes, Art Rock would be the most appropriate place for the IMO.

	In my opinion MOON FOG PROPHET doesn't fit to psychedelic/space rock category on basis of their two first albums, when compared to other artists of that genre like HAWKWIND or THE SPACIOUS MINDS.

	If we're going to compare to Hawkwind I don't think any band belongs in that genre. Hawkwind are rather unique.

	HAWKWIND are just maybe most known of the space rock bands. Anyway, in my opinion MOON FOG PROPHET won't fit the PA description of the style discussed: http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive-rock.asp#15. MFP has a space themed lyrics, but that isn't enough in my opinion.

	1. 100% Prog bands 2. Bands that are beyond the limits of the sub-genre parameters, or 3. Bands that have evolved so much throughout their career, that they crossed different sub-genres without any single sub-genre being pre-eminent, or 4. Bands that have characteristics of two or more different sub-genres and can't be reasonably classified in either, or 5. Bands that are one of a kind, and for that reason can't be included as part of any sub-genre. Form "Art Rock" definition 4 out of 5 match, if KUUSUMUN PROFEETTA is seen as a part of their career. From the space rock category, the parts market with red won't in my opinion correlate with MOON FOG PROHET: Psychedelic Progressive: Emerging in the mid-'60s, as British Invasion and folk-rock bands began expanding the sonic possibilities of their music. These groups confined themselves to the brief, concise verse-chorus-verse patterns of rock & roll, they moved toward more free-form, fluid song structures. Just as important, the groups began incorporating elements of Indian and Eastern music and free-form jazz to their sound, as well as experimenting with electronically altering instruments and voices within the studio. Bands range from early Pink Floyd, and Djam Karet, to newer artists like Phish and Ozric Tentacles. These days, psychedelic commonly informs music space rock and space fusion. Space Progressive Rock: Space rock tends to be jam-orientated, with synthesizer and guitar effects approximating that propulsive "interstellar traveller" sensibility of vintage science fiction films. Hawkwind is the genre’s key innovator. Examples: Hawkwind, Alien Planetscapes, Quarkspace, Amon Düül (the English lineup).
