 Topic: Neal Morse vs Nick D Virgilio

For me, itīs Nick (better range,clearer,emotion) He can sing anything, from the slow emotional songs to the hard rock songs.
Neal will more than likely win this poll, but I am curious as to by how much?

I think Spock's Beard has moved on and done some fine things; however, with Morse they were capable of greatness. I'd follow Morse long before the new Beard.

Agreed. But I'd say hats off to Nick for participating in so many projects ... most notably, The Shaming of the True.

Morse is the better songwriter, better singer, better musician, better everything surrounding music. This is a no-brainer.

Both are great singing. But, in the rest of things, wins Morse (except in battery, of course). This is only a vocalist poll, so I will vote to Nick because he is loosing by a lot of votes.

Based on vocal abilities I will say Morse...but not by much. At times they sound really similar to me.

Well, Morse can be a better composer, but in terms of vocals, my vote goes to Nick. His voice is more cleaner, and IMHO more enjoyable... I hope the SPOCK'S BEARD comes with a DVD after his next studio album... For the people that can't see them live on stage!!!

If this poll is only about singing, I vote for D'Virgilio. Morse is a great singer, a more complete musician and an amazing songwriter, but Nick's voice I prefer.

On the painful evidence of the warts and all, live, unplugged performance recorded in Europe of these guys singing together and found a double CD Two Live Gorillas- I don't want either of these off key, half octave range "vocalists" on my CD machine.
However,considering Nick D'Virgilio input and dedication on the post-production of the late Kevin Gilbert's The Shaming Of The True - check out the reviews here - there might be a case for revise opinions on his musical skills.

Being a huge KG fan I agree with you and Mike.His tireless work on Shaming is to be commended,without him we probably would have never heard that marvellous cd.
