Lets here it for the one and only Kate Bush.Clap Thanks must go to David Gilmour for helping speed things up with her career. Her latest work is a real treat (Aerial).

She has done something no one else has done as far as I know. Turning PI into a song. The song does end however. Smile

Your thoughts on Kate's career???

One of my favourite artists of all time.Heart I've been a fan of hers for about 25 years, and I own most of her albums.

BTW, I agree 100% on "Aerial", so much that I gave it 5 stars in my review of it.

I love Kate Bush and every album by her 78-84, with The Dreaming and Hound of Love as my two five star favorites. The Kick Inside and Never For Ever are almost as great. She's was so creative and unique, that most female artists after her trying to do something different or original are in great depth to her.

I think Aerial is good, but not nearly as exiting as her earlier albums.

Kate Bush and Joni Mitchell are my favorite women in music. I do feel sorry for every talented female (by a piano). Must feel like a curse always getting compared to these two.
Over land and under ashes
In the sunlight, see - it flashes
Find a fly and eat his eye
But don't believe in me
Don't believe in me
Don't believe in me

I love Kate Bush. Other Female favourites: Dagmar Krause, Meredith Monk, Tujiko Noriko. Check them out. Hopefully, this thread will provide more suggestions.

I was never much of a Kate Bush fan until i heard "Hounds of Love", what a brilliant work, a masterpiece! Kate is the best female writer and singer ever, no wonder she has the respect of Peter Gabriel and Dave Gilmour! Clap must hear "Ariel" one day.

My top female artist. I dont think she has made a bad album. 'Lionheart' is the weakest IMO, but even that aint bad!

Aerial is a masterpiece, and arguably her best ever.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

She's a National Treasure!

Started listening to her just before Hounds Of Love was released. My favourite song is 'Man With The Child In His Eyes' (reportedly about Dave Gilmour). Her early albums have some wonderful orchestral arrangements (courtesy of Andrew Powell). On The Dreaming she experimented more with synths and ethnic folk ideas which eventually lead to what I consider her masterpeice- Hounds of Love.I like her recent album as well but you need to live with a KB album for 20 years to really appreciate it!

As ever Andy, you have immaculate taste. "Hounds Of Love" is still my favourite but "Aerial" is a close second now. The best female artist ever.

Sigh...HeartHeartHeart

My favourite female prog artist!l. I have followed her since the release of "Wuthering Heights" and I have found little to disappoint me with each successive release of her albums over the years. "Hounds of Love" is my favourite album followed closely by "Aerial" and "Never For Ever". Kate is indeed a rare talent and a "National Treasure". HugBig smile
