Cool.  I presume you mentioned PA and the reasons for your message, re: possible future interview?

They should be grateful, it's free publicity!

Oh and by the way, this Present album rocks.  It's much better than Univers Zero's debut so far.  The guitar playing is just great!

Present being a UZ offshoot, is excellent. It's like a refined UZ, or improved/alternate UZ. (not a good choice of words, but it'll have to do at this moment).

In the email I mentioned PA and I talked about the possible interview, the lyrics of Skymind as were discussed in the other thread, their take on the genre to which they were assigned here in PA and some other personal notes.
I hope they reply.

I hope so too.  If not, well, we'll have to find some other way!

Too bad that Taal still haven't replied to the email. Let's hope they do with this one. I personally would like to see an interview to see what are there thoughts on what they do, lyrics ect.

Thanks Assaf hopefully you have a little more luck than me, I must have scared them off

No, I understand what you were trying to say. Present is a lot more refined with their musical compositions. Though I would not say an improvement. It swaps between days who I like more. I find UZ a lot darker and brooding and doesn't suit for every mood. Overall I find Present are a lot more lively, though they can sometimes get caugh out with their repeatative structures. But a very good band. I still need to listen to their lastest album (a live one I think) I have had it for a few months now but have not gotten around to listening to it, might put it the player sometime after work. Has anybody else heard their lastest offering?

No Response from Taal yet, nor from Musea records (concerning Wapassou).

I wanted to inform you that Zaar has been added to PA by yours truly.
You can now write your praising reviews about their s/t album (actually you should write them, not only can LOL)

Have a good day everyone.

I hope to add some more RIO/Avant bands in the near future.
I know Joren wants to add Boredoms and another one which I can't recall right now...

As for Zaar, all reviews are welcome, as long as they are 4 stars and above... LOL

Absolutely! I think the warning must be issued: "By giving this album less than 4 stars rating, you will only demonstrate your low level of thinking, music comprehension and general education. Abstain!"

I personally think this is 4.5 stars album, so my level probably is OKLOL.

Ah, good news indeed.  I was looking for them earlier in the archives and I couldn't see them, so you must have added them not long afterwards, well done!

I need to get myself an "official" copy of their album now.  I'll get it when I next order some stuff from Wayside/Cuneiform, whenever that'll be.

Are you not allowed to review an album without having an "official" copy of it?

You forgot to add "Also I gave it 4 stars because Avestin warned me or else...  please help me" Wink

All this is irrelevant after warning had been issued.

Well, according to PA regulations Article 42.3 / 5a a registered member may review an album without haveing an official hard copy version of the album in question given the following conditions:
The member has heard the album in an approved method, such as through mass media channels (radio etc),
a concert,
the member has heard the album at a friends who has the original copy,
the member has heard it at a record shop
the member has downloaded the album legally through approved website selling it,
the member just happen to cross by the album laying in the middle of the street unclaimed for,
the member knows a member of the band and received a free copy from him (sleeping with a member of the band would make this constitute as prostitution, an act not indorsed by PA).
Other occurences will be dealt with specifically.

I'll make a suggestion to the high comittee of PA to add an article that will apply especially for you

42.3/5a Addenda:

Those who have acquired an album from an anonymous source, who offered it with kindness, from their own heart and for future reviewing purposes, can review an album if they do not mention the origin of the said album, in the review.

If you happen to have the moniker of Geck0, you are also allowed to review, because we at PA are nice like that.

^^^^

Looks like Zaar is going to be getting some fan boy reviews coming up sometime soon, I think I myself would rate it about 4 but their music is just a little too absurd for my tastes

Definately good to see the them now offically on the site. Also I would say the other one Joren want to add was Smegma, which I am also looking forward to.
