Topic: A Battle of Pacinos Posted: July 28 2006 at 20:24 |
in the spirit of the Robocop vs. Terminator poll.... a question I've posed to several people in the past: Assuming equal resources (money, weapons, thugs, etc.), who would win a gang war between Michael Corleone and Scarface? Pacino vs. Pacino!

Corleone for one simple reason: he actually uses his brain. Scarface is not a "thinker"; he allows his passions to govern him and he acts on instinct, often to his own detriment. Corleone is a thinker: he does not allow his passions to govern him, so he is able to more clearly and "cleanly" plan and execute his "thuggery."
Scarface wouldn't have a chance.

Now we're talking....Pacino is my favorite actor and even though Scarface is one of my favorite movies Michael Corleone would eat him for breakfast.Maani explained the reason why perfectly.

I prefer Michael Corleone, god once he gets out they pull him back in. They just make him an offer he can't refuse.

Yeah, I've always thought Corleone was the clear choice, but many people have argued that Scarface just might be crazy enough to get Corleone. Their logic lies in the fact that while Michael has a cool head, Scarface's temper could lead him to strike at Corleone quickly enough and strongly enough to finish him in one "hit". They have a point, but my opinion stands

He would never get to him....Michael Corleone is always thinking 10 steps ahead.

Michael Corleone would win in any gang war - he'd probably have taken out most of Scarface's thugs before it even started properly.
If it came to a face to face showdown, though, Scarface would have Corleone for breakfast. "Say hello to my leetle frien'!"
