I really really love the sound of songs with big ambient synth intros that flow into powerful riffs like "Xanadu", "Trial of Tears", "Octavarium", and other songs like that, do you guys know anymore albums with songs like those?

Marillion's Hotel Hobbies could also fit that criteria to a certain extent.

I was thinking more of That Time of the Night.

The Dream Sequencer by Ayreon fits the bill pretty well.

They both seem to have those introductions, although That Time of The Night's is a bit longer.

You can hear another one with Bitter Suite, actually.

a nice synth intro i can think of off the top of my head is Dream Theater's Lines in the Sand.  I mean it is Derek Sherinian playing keyboards but i really like and its also one of my favorite songs on the Falling into Infinity album.

Many Sky tunes fit the bill.
