I don't know about pudding but there's a mexican ice cream company that makes the best rice ice cream, tastes just like horchata but frozen. Yum!

I have memories of rice pudding at schooldinners, truly awful, only tapioca or semolina were worse....but then I tried Ambrosia from a can, the only rice pudding I've ever liked! (sorry Mum, your home made pud was pretty bad too...)

Mystic Fred's Rice Pudding
Ingredients:
3/4 cup long-grain rice -- raw 1/4 teaspoon vanilla 2 large eggs -- lightly beaten 1/8 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 cups milk 1/2 cup golden raisins 1 1/2 cups heavy cream 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/3 cup sugar whipped cream 2 teaspoons lemon peel -- grated 2 teaspoons orange peel -- grated Instructions:
- Prepare the rice in 1 1/2 cups of water according to package directions.
- Meanwhile heat the oven to 350 degree F. Grease an 8-inch square baking dish. In a large bowl combine the eggs, milk, cream, sugar, grated peels, vanilla, and salt beating until well blended.
- Stir the raisins into the rice and spoon the rice mixture into the prepared baking dish. Pour the egg mixture over the rice and sprinkle with the cinnamon.
- Place the baking dish in the oven in a larger baking pan filled with enough hot water to come halfway up the sides of the baking dish. Bake for 45 minutes until pudding is almost set, stirring once after 10 minutes and again 15 minutes later.
- Remove the baking dish from the larger pan and cool on a wire rack, cooling until cold. Refrigerate, covered, at least 3 hours or overnight until the pudding is firm. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
- Make sure you leave a nice thick brown skin on top!

I voted Eh? because Ther wasn't a category for my feelings about it. I don't hate it, but it's kind of wierd. There just seems to be something wrong with it when I eat it. My mind seems to think that this is something that should not be eaten.

I can see myself thinking that about eating rice and noodles mixed together... euhg.. gross... It probably wouldnt taste bad... since rice and noodles are sorta tasteless... but well.. bad memories... I guess Ill go into detail: A few times in the past when Ive walked my dog through this park near my house and into an area with these hydro tower.. things... you know... that carry the power lines... anyway, a lot of the time Id pass by this sign post near the entrance to the hydro field from the road... and near the sign post theres always this big pile of rice and noodles... I sounds like something out of a wierd dream... but ... it was reeeeaaaAaaAaaaaAAAll... spoooooky! Euhg... bad memories... my dog would sometimes try to eat it and Id yank her away from that evil pile like it was a monster... It just looked so wierd... a pile of noodles and rice sitting in a field... sometimes it was in a plastic bag. You consider that for a second and tell me that it isnt creepy.

One of God's own puddings! Not too thick, mind, and remove the skin before it gets to me... then just a dusting of brown sugar on top!
