Since the World Cup is over and The Azzurri are champions, why not we start an official football thread to replace the world cup thread, because the World Cup is over!

I'll start:

Predict the champions in each major European league!

England: Chelsea FC
Spain: FC Barcelona
Italy: Inter Milan (With AC Milan, Juventus expelled for at least one year)
Germany: Bayern Munich
France: Lyon
Netherlands: Feyernoord Rotterdam (Sorry LOL)
Portugal: Benfica
Scotland: Hearts (Yes, a winner that's not Rangers or Celtic)

Back to "European" football (soccer for our American friends)

My predictions are:

England: Arsenal
Spain: Barcelona
Italy: AC Milan (if they are not put back in serie B, then Internazionale Milan)
Germany: Werder Bremen
France: Lyon
the Netherlands: Ajax Amsterdam
Belgium: Anderlecht
Scotland: Celtic
Portugal: Porto
Turkey: Fenerbahce
Greece: Olympiacos Piraeus

I hate the term Soccer, it's a horrible word used by people who think they sound cool.

The thread deserves a sacrifice.

I am from Chicago, I now live in Denver.

@James

I think this thread needs to be sacrificed.

Honestly I mean honestly, who pays attention to soccer on this forum when the World Cup is over other than Tony R?  Not even Flossy will be posting here after a week!

I quite agree.  I also think all World Cup related threads should be closed.  I would close them if I was an administrator.

By the way, that saying is a play on words of a Colosseum tune called "The Machine deserves a sacrifice".

Who knows, if everyone acts like us in this thread, maybe it will be closed.Wink

EDIT: I almost forgot.  What is a non-admin doing making an "official" thread anyways?  The insubordination is reason enough for it to be closed!LOL

This year will be a pretty good year for the titans, they did better than any other team in the draft, I don't think they'll win they're division the Colts will probably take it, but they will edge the Jags at a playoff wild card spot.
The Texans will do better than in previous years but still have a losing record, as will the the Saints.
The Cardinals may make the playoffs if not they will be close, if they do make the playoffs they won't advance.
The Raiders will have the worst record in the NFL followed by the 49ers.
If the Colts had a better running game they would win the Superbowl next season, it'll be a team from the south, maybe the Bucs or the Panthers.
Also Denver and NY Giants will do good.

Indeed, no talk of American Football in here either!

I have a cunning plan!

No sport related threads for a month!

My guitar wants to kill this thread.

I have a better idea! How about Flossy joins a FIFA forum and talks soccer with people who actually know about it.

Steelers winning last year was the biggest fluke I'd seen in my life. If not for the critical injury in the Bengals game they would have been crushed, and then The Colts had their game won after that botched run but because of terrible play calling *sigh*.

My blind faith tells me The Eagles will come out on top as it does every year, but logically I'm feeling really confident about The Panthers.
