Speakers or Headphones?

Both have pros and cons, so which do you usually use?

I use Headphones, since good speakers are much more expensive than good headphones.

Some people prefer headphones or simply can't afford good speakers.

Even an amazing pair of speakers will give a different rendition of a track to a pair of headphones. The fact that the sound source is placed directly by the ear instead of filling a whole room is going to have a huge impact on how the sound is heard. Thus, some people prefer headphones, Mike. And there ain't nothing wrong about that.

Depends on my mood.

If it´s a prog band like IQ or Proto Kaw it´s great to hear them on headphones. If I´m listening to rock I usually use the speakers.

Headphones is preferred, but it's fifty-fifty for me.

I most definately prefer the sound of headphones.  Every instrument and every chord sound so much more defined and so much easier to pick apart. 

Headphones, most albums need to heard through phones to be appreciated.

As Mike says, you have asked 2 quite different questions.

The Poll question: which do you PREFER? I would probably answer SPEAKERS, assuming that cost and space considerations were inconsequential, because IMO that would be a more natural and satisfying experience

The First Post Question: which do you USUALLY USE? I always use HEADPHONES because I have no choice

I have no choice here. There is too much noise outside so you heard nothing from speakers. Plus I don't want my music to disturb other people. Hence, headphones, though I can bear them for not longer than about two hours.
