I have to say this semifinal was of poor quality...
France deserved to win but both teams did not play well
penalty was a fair decision

yesterday's much was more thrilling

The Portuguese team is a joke and should not be this far in the tournament. I mean, come on, they're diving whenever, wherever they can. They have scored one goal in the last three matches. France was far better today and controlled the game all the way, the same with England but they were unable to score.

Their offensive game is mediocre, well C Ronaldo is good though, but that guy needs to grow up. He was excellent for Man Utd last season but he really needs to stop diving!!

That might be the key, Erik! In the end I think PFM and Le Orme have more to do with my love for Italy than Totti and Del Piero LOL .

just out of pure provocation reasons I will re-state my saying from the polls forumBig smile

Not much of a choice here is there?

In both case, the winner's fans/ countrymen will be insufferably arrogant, very pretentious  for the next four years, and we will never hear the end of it. Dead

But in case of a loss, the Italians will shut up and sulk in their corners, while the French will still remain insufferably arrogant at finding reasons/causes external to their defeat, so no matter what, the French will break our balls Cry

So in order to minimize our suffering , I choose we declare France the winner, without even playing the game, so only one country will be arrogantBig smile

Plus, if Italy wins while they have all of their scandals, this might just confirm they are doing SOMETHING right (like blatant game fixingWink) >>> So FranceEvil Smile

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

I can't believe it's nearly over...Cry........although for me, most of the romance of the WC occurs in the group stages, when we get the chance to see some of the lesser-known teams (from our lofty viewpoint in Europe & S America, that is) enjoy themselves at the expense of some of the more smug of the big boys....Clap....Schadenfreude is a powerful emotion...Evil Smile....so my winners at the WC are:

Ecuador - for their first two games, anyway

T&T - for making England & Sweden look ordinary

Ivory Coast - the unluckiest team, who would probably have qualified from any other group

Ghana - who upset the apple cart, & the Czechs

Australia - gave Brazil a decent game & were cheated against Italy

...and losers...

England (!?) - for giving the best impression of a Trabant in a Formula One race

Portugal - need I say why?

Brazil - seemed to think 10 footballers & a guy off the street make a team

Argentina - for thinking they'd won the WC after 2 games

Nederlands - for getting sucked into The Game From Hell

South Korea & Japan & USA - all three went backwards, after previously suggesting they could challenge the traditional footballing nations

It's a pity! Being my second favourite team ever I fancied Italy-England as the final match!
And England-Sweden has been in my opinion the best match of the competition!

Oh, come on, for crying out loud! You aren't serious, are you?
Ok Italy did not play a good game, but they did NOT steal the penalty! It was a sin of naivety by the aussies!

Well, a  lot has been said. In any case, as Sean Trane said, the winner will be arrogant. But I can't remember France being arrogant between 1998 and 2002...

As for comparing the 2 finalists in terms of prog rock.... this is just impossible :
I'm deeply in love with Italian prog rock and I'm berserk about zeuhl and other French prog bands from the 70s.

I refuse to give a winner !!

Saddam Hussein has been sentenced to die by firing squad - he is being allowed to choose his own.

He wants Carragher, Lampard and Gerrard from 12 yards .

The master himself,Johan Cruyff smoked like the proverbial chimney and ended up with a heart bypass despite having obviously been a very fit man.
