open for general discussion for the possible inclusion (consider it an honorary inclusion) for the father of modern prog.   Should he be included in a sub-genre as proto or prog related.. to reflect his MIGHTY contributions to modern prog..ala the Beatles.... being the pioneer of modern progessive music.

what sayeth thee...people!

Hey, I have it. Just add a whole new one and call it Jazz. Anyway, of course Dave Brubeck should be here. His influences are unquestionable.

I don't think a jazz section is nessary.. but the pioneers of popular progressive music like Brubeck, and one that Guigo mentioned last night.. Stan Kenton could... and in Brubecks case...should be here.  We let  artists in who sure enough rock but the prog part sort of gets skipped over.... tell me how someone who was undeniably prog yet not rock should not be here.  This is a prog site you know hahah   Honestly a prog collection without a copy of Time Out... is an incomplete collection any way you cut it.

I agree that a JAZZ section is not really something this web site should consider. It was more of a comical solution, but musicans in Jazz that have unquestionable impact should be included and celebrated.

If this site is going to recognize Heavy Metal then it most definatly must include Jazz. There is a big list of potential musicians that should be listed here and of course Time Out is a killer album.

I am a big fan of Jazz and some of the newer acts are using all kind of progressive elements in their music. Patrica Barber comes to mind and her album Café Blue is a good example of this. This is one of my desert island albums to be sure. It would nice to see some input here from others.
