Get your self a Line6 TonePort and upgrade your tunes with real instruments and reasonable sounding software-modelled amps - you could then add a mike and vocals.

A copy of Magix Music Studio is cheap and will help you sequence the audio - but if you can stretch to a copy of Sony Acid Pro, so much the better.

You don't need to be a performer to use Magix or Acid - just capable of playing your stuff little bit by little bit.

Your music sounds much better than the bagatelles I write these days (my flashing logo is the link) - but presentation is a large part of getting your music accepted by an audience.

Music of that quality deserves a little investment. Soundfonts are OK - I used to use them a lot in my own compositions - but don't really compare to instruments, as I'm sure you're already aware.

You can create your own using Vienna Soundfont studio, but I found these time-consuming and always ended up with enormous unusable files (my AWE had 28Mb Soundfont memory).

Hmm... are these programs you speak of any expensive? Because being the unripe age of 15, cash is usually a little hard to come by. I've looked into some of these things and there's nothing really to be bought that wouldn't require me a few good months of working. But I guess if I'm intent on making these things sound good, I might want to pony up the cash. I admit I hadn't planned on spending any money, and so far its worked--its cost me nothing.

I feel your budgetry pain.

Magix retails around the £40-50 mark, and is the cheapest quality solution you're likely to find - you can even mix your existing MIDI with audio.

There is a free version of Magix that's cut down to 4 stereo tracks - but might just do the biz - after all, unlike 4-track tape, you can dump mixed tracks without sacrificing quality.

I'm not sure where you can download it, as I got my copy from a magazine - fully functional including Save, and non time-bombed. If I can't find it using Google, I'll stick it onto YouSendIt.

Acid Pro is around £500 - but cheap for what it does. I think there's an entry-level version, but not a free one.

The Line 6 devices aren't free, they're in the £100 - £1,000 ballpark, depending on which model you go for.

Seems like a lot of cash, but when you consider that they're an instrument interface into your PC that will work with any audio processing tool, that model amps that would otherwise set you back thousands and thousands of any currency - they're probably worth the outlay, and you can get an early model on eBay for £50.

Like I said - I think your music is very good, and I'm even more impressed now I've learned your age. It's not really my bag, so I don't want to start analysing it, but there is a sizeable audience for that sort of music, and yours is quality, so all you need do is make it sound nice and get it out there!

Thanks! I am indeed 15, a late 15 though =]

I used Note Worthy Composer to write out all the music, which in my opinion, is a pretty terrible program but I have gotten so used to it I just can't do the same things with other programs. I then use SynthFont to upgrade the sounds of those awful default midi sounds.
