My son is two years old next week.  In the past year, I've noticed that he tends to like certain prog songs.

To name a few:

As A Man Thinks (Mullmuzzler)
The Gates of Delirium (Yes...and yes, he does get stirred up by this song although the attention span isn't quite there yet)
I've Seen All Good People (Yes)
Knots (Gentle Giant)
Advent of Panurge (Gentle Giant)

He will often sit really still with me at night and listen to stuff.  Others he will dance.  Of all the things though that both my wife and I have played for him, those above seem to be the ones he recognizes as I notice him perk up everytime I play them.

Cool. In kindergarten, he'll really show his classmates when he brings in a copy of In a Glass House for show and tell when all of them bring in a ball of clay or whatever. LOLStar

That sounds nice actually. Smile It's hard to see a 2 year old sitting still while listening to music or anything for that matter. Sounds like he will be one helluva son. Thumbs Up

I know I mentioned this another similar thread some time back.. but TFTO through headphones when Becks was pregnant with Nat paid off handsomely.  As a toddler he loved to bang out the intro to Yours Is No Disgrace on his kiddie drum set.  He's now as big a Bruford fan as I am... and getting to be a decent drummer.  With a tutor like that... no wonder hahaha.

I think that a baby might enjoy symphonic prog. But if a baby enjoys Magma or Henry Cow I think it would be worrying.

I liked Queen a bunch when I was younger (as to whether or not they're prog, well, that's a different thread). Much like Australian with PAAE, I still love them as well.

sterner stuff.. hahah.. nah... music isn't EVERYTHING.. (cough..cough hahahah) Wink  Besides I've perfected the art of the cranial jukebox... even when  Celine is completely oversinging some simplistic pop  drivel.... I've got Osanna's Palepoli pounding in my head.

My kids are 6 and 9 and they love prog. They always want me to sing Zappa songs at bed time. They really like Pojama People. They listen to King Crimson and they like Deus Ex Machina because of the wierd Latin lyrics.
