DEVIN TOWNSEND — InfinityReview by coldflame44
In my opinion, the best Devin Townsend album, and also the one everybody who doesn't know the man's music should start with. Compared to the aces of 70's, this is not an outstanding album, but I have to give it five starts out of five because it expresses emotions better than anything I had heard before. _ANYTHING_

RICK WAKEMAN — Black Knights at the Court of Ferdinand IVReview by AndreaSalvador
They are approached to me this album only because it is to name of Rick Wakeman. Although this I must say that it is not then a bad album, indeed! The topic is dealt with much sincerity and must recognize that the good artists are not many who confirm every time with album therefore. If I must be sincere I have found little forced the lyrics in "Neapolitan dialect" and "Italian", although inserted in a nearly perfect context. Creed that Rick has taken I do not dazzle although many say that everytime that works with Mario Fasciano arranges a row, turning out nauseous. Here to you an other album to possess.

RICK WAKEMAN — Black Knights at the Court of Ferdinand IVReview by MANDRAKEROOT ( Andrea Salvador)
STORY
This is one of the better album of the 80's. Rick wakeman meets Mario Fasciano and decides to produce the umpteeth album discuss from a fantastic (or mythological) story or legends... And it does not blunder.
The songs are except for Wakeman that in other cases because composed with Fasciano e Giuseppe Castiglia (And "Umberto II" is written from the alone Fasciano). Nevertheless it deserves admiration because Wakeman has interested to a lot not English story (or legend) (and when talks about this type of stories, for an English...) and because in 80's do like product means to have a lot of courage. And the music becomes a mixed between the Wakeman's prog and the Neapolitan tradition. That it is not little. The songs are all attractive but in the mind it is printed it "Neapolitan" "'O Bilancio" that closes an album unobserved and that if was gone out 15 years before would have had a lot more happened and consideration.
Surely to rediscover.
For always yours, Mandrakeroot.

^Andrea Salvador is not SYMPHONICAGE as well, is he, by any chance?
RICK WAKEMAN — Black Knights at the Court of Ferdinand IVReview by SYMPHONICAGE
To have the luck of to find a disc so in the most inconceivable place and for €2,00 seems me actual that is how to win the lottery! Recorded and mixing in Rome, this LP is surely a happy surprise. The tightly piece is "'O Bilancio" (Fasciano, Wakeman, Castiglia) so dramatic and POP- Prog oriented, honors conclusion of a LP that, simply moving itself on the same coordinated, is not for monotonous and repetitious nothing. Besides this LP does us acquaintance a piece of the story of Naples. The vow I give it because this is pure culture.

MARILLION — Script For A Jester's Tear
Review by
MANDRAKEROOT
(Andrea Salvador)
THIS IS A GENESIS ALBUM
This is an album of the Genesis, not of the Marillion.(1) This thing I am in a lot note it.
Nevertheless to part Fish that compels (with its voice) to this is an exceptional album.
Ironically the music is a clone of the Genesis. (2)
----------- (1) I don't know about it...the interpretation can be "Genesis made this album, not Marillion"...people who know the subject realizes that what's suppose to mean is "Marillion's album is heavily influenced by Genesis",still...not clear. (2) is it?! Fish singing like Gabriel (or Collins),okay....but I don't find ANY connection between Script and any album of Genesis.Any real connection.Short essence similarities maybe...but "clone" means "perfect match"...which is false.

I've just checked the Script review page:
MARILLION — Script For A Jester's Tear
Review by
Andrea Cortese
(Andrea Cortese)
PROG REVIEWER
“So here I am once more in the playground of the broken hearts / one more
experience, one more entry…”
I’ve started to listen to Script from the last june and I was initially a little bit
disappointed!
In fact I’m not really an “aficionado” of neo-prog genre… by the way I have to admit
that this album, at each time I listen to it, amazes me ever more! That’s not for the
(obvious) Genesis’ references which seem to be the fundaments of this 80s prog re-
birth. In fact I feel there’s a great injection of originality in Script for a Jester’s Tear
due to the fact of the unique vocals provided by Fish, its most precious trademark,
also due to the fact of the master hands of all the band members who created these
stunning arrangements, running keyboards and convincing guitars, almost perfect
drumming!
The opener track is a perfect introduction and it’s nowadays my favourite Marillion’s
track. Warm atmosphere and strong poetry is sparse in all the of the album’s
compositions, from beginning to end!
Yes, I like it!
As a debut-album it is powerful, sometimes dark, in a great symbiosis with the nice
cover, rich of particulars…
What a pity I still don’t own the 1997 remaster cd edition (with all that interesting
bonus material)!

Just for the reference (for I don't really know)...are these two THE same?!...if so,why is Mandrakeroot allowed to review under two identities....if so,who did Andrea lost his English?!!... If Andrea has made two Script reviews,it is not for the first time...I feel he should be GUIDED TO CHECK IF HE DOESN'T ALREADY REVIEWED THAT ALBUM BEFORE REVIEWING IT.

I think this rather long review doesn't really review the album at all, but rather talks about how great DT are. And don't tell me I'm biased just because I can't listen to the whole album in question without my mind blacking out halfway through... DREAM THEATER — Awake
Review by
MajesterX
Dream Theater at their peak! After devolping their sound with the masterpiece that is
Images & words, they put out AWAKE, an equallly as great release.
I'll make this quick (well not really). Dream Theater goes darker and heavier on this
album. The great abilities of John(s) Petrucci, Myung and Mike Portnoy, combined with
the incredible writing skills of Kevin Moore and Powerful voice of James LaBrie,
make DT a powerhouse of a Prog metal band at this point.
the Early 90's are still the early period of Prog metal so to speak, and yet with all
the newly formed bands appearding, DT blows them out of the water. Even Today I am
quite suprised that whenever I try to get into a band like Pagan's Mind or Threshold,
they are just, well, boring. I think that that is because of their lack of
originality that they have. Dream Theater are one of the main pioneers of the Genre,
Yet still many people think they are just copies of the Classic bands like Yes and
Rush and Genesis combined with Metallica and Iron Maiden. The REASON Pagan's Mind,
Threshold, and other not very well-known prog rock/metal bands are NOT popular is the
fact that many of them do not do anyhting different than their predecessors (sp?).
For example, the classic 70's bands are hailed because they started the Genre in the
first place (!) and by doing so did something no other Rock bands were doing at the
time. In other words, they are original. The reason Prog metal bands such as Opeth,
Riverside, DT, Pain of Salvation and Tool are the highest rated and most popular prog
metal bands on this site is the fact that instead of following trends, they were/are
very original!
OK, enough with that, back to AWAKE. On this album Dt spends alot less time soloing
and more time on the writing of this album. There are no filler tracks, and every
song is beautifully written. Space-dye vest is the last thing Moore wrote with the
band and left shortly after. He could not have given the band a better "Parting
song".
Proggyness- 8/10
Writing- 10/10
Originality- 10/10
Musicianship-20/10
Because I do not agree with the site in what makes a 5 star album a 5 star album like
" oohh, well only give it 5 stars if every single prog fans should get it!! oohh", I
give it 5 stars because it is an incredible album, one of the best of the band, and
very original.
