I am purchasing the B4 II software for the hammond sounds, because I have read it is the best...but now I need a controller to copy it as close as possible!!

First off, the main question is, what can you reccommend??? Price is not an issue...the only issue is that I NEED to be able to play alot of Genesis, King Crimson, Yes, Renaissance, Strawbs, and others of the like as close if not exactly as they did it!

Here is what I have found, let me know what you think!

Now, I assume all the hammonds were double keyboards like this, so that is what I need to buy, a combo!  But what do you guys here suggest to me?Confused

Thank you so much guys!Tongue

It's a sweet one - and it's pricey at about $4,500.00.

Don't get ahead of yourself, LC...

A.)  Learn the B4 inside and out, as well as the other soft-synths you're initially getting.

B.)  How much theory do you have under your belt?  Without it, you're flyin' blind...focus on the classical harmony if you want to pull those Banks voicings correctly.  What about your technique - how are you approaching the two most important aspects of playing?  that should be your primary focus right now...

well ive been playing by ear for years, and know all of the scales by heart and fly through them with ease...i solo very well and can play almost everything i hear

Whenevr someone tried to show me music theory i already know what they are talking about from natural playing...

Are there any tips you can throw at me that a true master would know that i might not?  I know there is always more to learn, but where should i go to learn it?

I feel like everything thats out there i already know, and now its just a matter of building on my own style and improving my speed and technicality as well as harmonics.

1.  Buy a copy of Piston's "Harmony" - and memorize it.

2.  Buy a copy of Levine's "Jazz Theory Book" - and memorize it.

If you can make it through these two books and fully comprehend them, they will be the cornerstone of your musicianship, and it will all truly "make sense"!  Thumbs Up
