Does Chilavert still play?

Chilavert retired now... IMO, Paraguay is presently a very balanced team. Take care England!

Ecuador did not surprise me they really play fairly! Star

Well, here I am.

It was an alright game. As you guys said it the defense was weak, yet the 2nd goal was definitely offside.

Ecuador played a really nice game, Poland was hugely disappointing though. Don't think Germany will have problems beating them.

I am very curious to your opinion about the possibilities of this German squad? What do you think, BebieM?

We're completely happy over here...I really expected a draw, but we knew we could eventually beat Poland...some were sckeptical because of the winning of Poland 3-0 in our last game 7 months ago.

We know we are not favorites, we are just playing with honour...You're right Atkingani our playing doesn't impress that much...but we can complicate our rivals enough to do a decent match...Hope we can beat CR though they made a terrific debut. They lose but Wanchope can cause us a great headache...

Hope Argentina and Paraguay can make a great game!!! Smile Clap

Viva Ecuador!!!!Smile Clap

By the way I think that we really don't have any chances with Germany, but we will try to draw at last...who knows...

Ecuador has a diversity of regions and two of them are populated in its majority by black people the northest of the coastiside Esmeraldas Province and a little town located in Imbabura province called El Juncal...the players you see today are from those regions just two or three not. Esmeraldas and El Juncal are the nest of our future in football (or soccer if you like). Esmeraldas has always been a producer of players...that's why you saw too much blacks...and many people thinks that only indians inhabitate our country...LOL

You find a lot of races here...Big smile

Any other American Football (soccer) fans out there? I seem to be the only American who enjoys football, other then mexican emigrants. I only saw a little of the Germany/Costa Rica game, but according to espn, they won 4-2 and i saw the Ecuador knocked off Poland 2-0 were there any other matches today?
If anyone knows where I can get a copy of some Flute and Voice (Indo-Prog/Raga Rock) albums please PM me! Many thanks!

Today it really starts:
- England-Paraguay (our foster parent child Elias lives in Paraguay but I go for England
  Embarrassed )
- Trinidad & Tobago-Sweden (T&T has a Dutch coach, Leo Beenhakker)
- Argentina-Ivory Coast (I hope Messi will play at least half the game and I am curious
  to Drogba, it's a predator!).

Actually, I expected our team to do better, too... but I'm hardly surprised by the result. With a following ten times smaller than Poland's and in less familiar atmospheric conditions, Ecuador still won 2:0.

Simply put - the better team won. My congratulations to the EcuadoriansClap.

People call baseball boring???

Football often is very boring; but save your opinions for games in which both sides are more or less equal - such as England vs Paraguay today.

Congrats to Ecuador for a great result against Poland - I thought the 2 centre backs were awesome! A very patient team strategy, too........if Paraguay play the same way - and they must be encouraged - or maybe challenged? - by Ecuador's success, I reckon they'll provide England with more than a few problems....there's a definite sense here of the only unknown being by how many we will beat Paraguay.........can't help feeling such arrogance will turn round & bite us in the bum......incidentally, not sure Germany's tactic of planting their centre backs in the ground before the game will catch on.......LOL....a little mobility is usually advantageous for these guys......

Germany will win, of course; they always start rather badly into a tournament and get better from match to match. This is much better than the other way round. I remember being five years old when Germany won the worldcup in 1974; it was probably all the excitement of the grown-ups what got me in to football. And of course my whole family being die-hard fans of German football club Schalke 04.
