WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST PROG ALBUM??

I had almost forgotten that I heard Dark Side of the Moon as a kid in the 70s. It was so different to the pop music I heard on the radio or saw on Top of the Pops. The way the individual songs flowed together fascinated me, the minimalism of the record sleeve intrigued me. When I became I teenager I got hooked on Rush, King Crimson, Tangerine Dream, Genesis and Yes, but Pink Floyd was the one!

Actually my introduction to Prog Rock was Opeth and Porcupine Tree. I had heard some Pink Floyd ofc but not really the Progressive Music they made. Shortly after followed by ELP, Yes and KC.

 

The very first prog albums I've listened are

...then I became a prog fan.

my then i got 'piper at the gates of dawn' which blew my mind, but thats psyche, not prog. i think it was soft machines first if you would consider that prog.but my first deffinate prog purchas was ITCOTCK cus that was early enough to still be in the psychedelic era. but then again, ive had 'overnite sensation' by zappa for 6 years now, is that prog?
