The album leaked. It is phenomenal. That's all. | Absolutely! It is fantastic. I cannot wait until it is released, so that we can actually hear it at higher quality (and in stereo!) |
There's a stereo floating around on Oink as well as the Mono - apparently the quality isn't bad either.

I do not think that they have realised their true musical vision yet, although it is a big step towards it. They have certainly come a long way since Showbiz was released, but I think they still have a lot more in them. I think they may finally realise their true musican vision with the follow-up to this wonderful album. I guess time will tell...

Parts of it definitely sound superb, but I do have a slight worry they may have gone just that slight bit too far on the melodramaticism in the odd section.

Nah - you can't be too bombastic!
"You will burn in hell for your sins"
This is what we want!
If you hurry (and live in the UK or can get here next Wednesday), you might get to see Muse for free - go to their (frankly awful) website and enter the competition.
Closing date is Thursday 22nd June (tomorrow, as I write).

'Scuse the double post, but I just found this in my MySpace inbox from Muse - the first OFFICIAL sneak peek at the album, and I'll bet they've cleaned up the audio a bit, like they did with "Super Massive Black Hole", so this should be worth hearing:
"Just a little bit of info...MySpace will be hosting a Muse listening party on our page here from June 26th - 29th! You'll see the link on MySpace's homepage along with a feature on the Main Music page, so stay tuned and have a listen to the new album!
In case you're not yet aware, Black Holes And Revelations will be released in the U.S. on July 11.
Thanks for listening."

Just listened to the Knights of Cydonia single. I think the live version off Radio 1 kinda ruined it for me.

"Knights..." grows on me more every time I hear it - and I liked it the first time!

I didn't like it at all on 1st listen - but my experience with Muse is that, like most prog bands, you need to give their music time.
However, I've had a copy since at least the inception of this thread, and while I find it almost unbearably catchy, I don't think it's the greatest thing they've ever done.
"Knights..." on the other hand grows on me with every listen - although it's no "Hysteria" or "Stockholm Syndrome" or...

Weak single, imo. Just listening to the album and on first listen, it sounds rather similar in structure to 'Absolution'- compare 'Take A Bow' to 'Sing For Absolution', 'Starlight' to 'Time Is Running Out' and compare 'Soldier's Poem' to 'Apocalypse Please'- I note that they were similarly placed in the track order of the last album too. 'Invincible' started out well with a Floydian intro but seemed to dovetail into a retread of Keane's 'Everybody's Changing', albeit with some excellent fret work thrown in.
Doesn't seem to be a huge stylistic development since 'Absolution' to me so far, at least not on first listen, though some Zeppelin type stuff creeps up in 'City Of Delusion' and an all too obvious Beach Boys lift on 'Soldier's Poem'. 'Hoodoo' is more impressive, but some of the songs sound fairly alike to me... 'Knights Of Cydonia' has 'Stonehenge' style lyrics imo and sounds like a Spaghetti Western themetune but it's a progressive tune for sure...

"Black Holes And Revelations" is my favorite album from Muse. They've topped "Absolution" in my eyes, and I can't wait to hear what they come up with next.

Definately one of the best albums so far this year (well honestly not much competition)
There is without a doubt a more operatic or symphonic feel to this album compared to the apocalyptic feel of Absolution or varying feeling on Showbiz.
