(I look forward to the constructive debate Q&MOJO contribute
to in the forum on other topics.)

You may be surprised. Actually I've been lurking here for
months (how do you think I knew to come here and post about
the Floyd mag?) Would it be inconceivable that I was genuinely
interested in a lot of the music discussed on these boards?
Hell, I even voted for my favourite Genesis album.

It does seem Dogs is doing well. Like I said its my fave.

What a morbid lot we are  It must be the dark imagery of being 'Broken by trained personel' and 'Dragged down by the stone' that appeals to us.

What a boring world it would be if we all liked Mariah Carey

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

My apologies for calling you a spammer, then

In that case I'll vote for my real favorite, the under-rated "Atom Heart Mother Suite".

No apology necessary. I'd expect some abuse. It's part of the
job!

It did look a bit odd - the first posting being a kind of ad. for another site - we've had quite a few recently, so I guess are quick to react.

Hope you had a bit of a laugh at my favourite graphic!

- Atom Heart Mother's a good choice, but hey - we're talking about the Floyd here - it's all good!

Yup. apologies from me too, as you've no doubt seen, the site has been spammed a bit recently, your's being a first message looked like another one!

Welcome to participating in the site.Big smile

On the subject of Q and Mojo, I have subscribed to both in the past at different times. Q was great for the first 100 issues (I could even put up with the REM obsessionWink), then went the way of Vox. When I cancelled my subscripton around issue 150, it was little more than a poorly written comic.

Mojo has always been journalistically excellent, but I found it took its eye off the ball about two years ago, and I moved to "Classic Rock".

Comment has also been made in this thread about the way prog is treated in the two publications. Niether publication appears to have had anyone on board who understood or appreciated the genre. The reviews in particular have almost without exception been hostile to this type of music without actually discussing the album concerned. Perhaps your involvement (which magazine do you actually work for) will redress the balance?

That's a bit of a generalisation. I know for a fact that albums by
Floyd, Genesis, Caravan, Yes, Jethro Tull, Van Der Graaf
Generator - to name a few of the classic bands - have been
reviewed favourably in both magazines. ELP may have had a
tougher time, though

Astronomy Domine (Barrett)

Lime and limpid green, a second scene,
A fight between the blue you once knew.
Floating down, the sound resounds
Around the icy waters underground
Jupiter and Saturn Oberon Miranda
And Titania Neptune Titan
Stars can frighten...

Blinding signs flap,
Flicker, flicker, flicker
Blam pow pow
Stairway scare Dan dare who's there...
Lime and limpid green
The sounds around the icy waters under
Lime and limpid green
The sounds around the icy waters
Underground.

This Whole World Has Gone Slum Gullion

Alan's Phsycadelic Breakfast, for the simple reason that eggs are used in a musical fashion. What more could you ask for?

Atom Heart Mother Suite is the best track ever! There never was and there never is gonna be something as good.

Echoes, The Narrow Way, Dogs, Shine on You Crazy Diamond and High Hopes have to be listed too!

Difficult to choose between so many good tracks. But I'll go for Summer '68 from Atom Heart Mother. Superb.
