I was lucky to witness the mindblowing performances of The Wall in Londen and Dortmund (Germany) so Pink Floyd is for me an eternal connection with that ambitous and controversial project!

Pink Floyd will probably be remembered as one of the greatest rock bands of the 20th century, and rightly so.

The band that made The Wall. The Floyd aren't really remembered
as a psychedelic or progressive group by the general public.

I'm afraid that any rock artist from the XX century will be remembered in 1000 years, except maybe by some sort of music archeologysts.

Nothing against Pink Floyd, but FM radio wore me out on them. Probably why I never listen to the radio anymore.

Pink Floyd won't die. It just won't.
Over the years, Pink Floyd has attracted generation after generation of progressive rock listeners. When people think of Progressive Rock, they think of Genesis, Pink Floyd, and RUSH. Pink Floyd is so popular still that just about every prog listener started off at Pink Floyd.
And while Led Zeppelin will be remembered as 'those hard-rock pioneers who made songs that were all more or less the same', Pink Floyd will be remembered as 'those guys who were bold enough to produce an album on which each song was from a different time and place".
People who listen to Pink Floyd's works are usually struck by the sheer variety in styles/sounds, and the well-placed experimental bits that just barely made their music glittery or glamorous.

Being Pink Floyd my all time favourite band, I voted the first option with very little objectivity ... but I think Beatles or Rolling Stones or Led Zep will be regarded as the greatest band of all times because they are much more popular.

But... those bands didn't write music that is absolutely timeless. Pink Floyd is about the human experience itself. The other bands you mentioned are all about love, or doing drugs, or quitting your job, or something like that. Hardly about weighty themes; Pink Floyd never made a 'lighthearted' song beyond the year 1971.

In general music history reference, it will probably be most influential psychedelic band. The more thorough histories will be kind. It's not as if they were a relatively unknown, that influenced more popular artists (such as The Velvet Underground, Big Star, or 13th Floor Elevators). They were one of the biggest selling bands of all time.
I also look at the difference in the way they, and other bands, have been treated in my lifetime. When I was a kid, Pink Floyd was "drug music," and Led Zeppelin was "devil music." Now the names of these bands are spoken in reverence with the likes of Elvis and The Beatles.
