The idea behind this thread is to gain information on how to obtain band endorsed legal (full song) Mp3 downloads from band web sites and to share the knowledge with fellow prog archive people,  so if you have any info regarding  Legal mp3 files that some bands are offering let us know here.

Here is a couple to get you started and they are good ones

http://www.tiles-music.com/audio.php Tiles MP3`s (9 full songs legal from their site)

http://www.echolyn.com/multimedia.asp  Echolyn Mp3`s (plenty over 20 full songs & legal from their site)    Tongue

www.pendragon.mu
there are about a dozen mp3 files, plus video clips on their site. From older stuff, right up to the latest album.
All legal and happily placed there by the band.

(some edits different to the album versions too!)

For most lesser-known artists--at least in Neo-Prog--is thatthey really want people to hear their music, not just consume it. Because of that, they'll have more music on the sites because they need to develope a loyal fanbase. Just go to a band's website and check their music section.

Lesser known symphonic prog band Episode has two of their albums up for download for free on their website http://www.underthebigtree.com. Just go to the music portion and you'll see Starlight Tales and Into the Epicenter available for download.

^ I have a back log of 100 more sites that I need to add. I already added a few on Monday, and hopefully I'll get around to adding them next weekend. But it takes 5 minutes per website, so it will take at least 8 hours to add them all.
