It's not a secret that a lot of guys without a life try to send their favorite album to the top throwing crap with electric fan to any suposedly rivals. but there are some important things that prove that the guy is just an ignorant:

Symphonic Prog (Studio Album, 1972) Avg: 4.62/5 from 286 ratings GENESIS — Foxtrot Review by Oler_Than_i_Look
This alum for me felt rushed and sloppy. i have had enough of songs soundong the same, and they do on this abum.(Yeah pal, probably Can Utility and the Coastliners, Horizons and Supper's Ready sound exactly the same.)
i dont hate gennisis (The poor idiot doesn't know that proper names use high case, and even worst, doesn't even knows how to read the name of the band, probably never heard the album)
but i have had enough of there boring music. this album puts me asleep, and not in a good way. (Please somebody explain me how can anything put you to sleep in a bad way except a Magnumm 44 bullett?)
a lot of people may call this album a timeless classic combining the best elements of 70's rock and 70's technology (Any first grade student of Progressive Rock 101 knows that the technology on early Genesis albums suck, the production is poor, the important thing is the music, so I insist, this guy never even heard somebody talking about the album)
with mythology and classical music. but however this is not true. (Mythology? I believe this dude read something about Nursery Cryme, no song from this album is about mythology, even Can-Utility is historical)try Dark side of the moon - Pink Floyd Atom Heat mother (Poor mother he's sending her to HEAT) - pink floyd Time and a world (The word became a world?)- yes Closer to the eage () - yes in the court of the crimson king - king crimson wish you were her (Wish you were HER????) - pink floyd the six wives - rick wakeman and please dont be ooled by this album it is not that good.

This alumb dissapointed me.This album is how Genesis got its roots. (I believe Genesis roots are in FGTTR or in the worst case in Tespass, or even if you want the definitive lineup in Nursery Cryme)The band with Peter Gabriel is the true Genesis, after Gabriel forget it. (Holy God, if this is the true Genesis and we must forget the rest and this guy gives 1 star, probably post Gabriel Genesis is poisonus) Songs like the Battle of Epping Forest show the path of this band and the core of its music. (Please say waht's the path!!!!!!!!)I heard this album my freshman year in college"74" and to this day it still stands as a remarkable debut to "The Lamb lies down". (debut to The Lamb??? Plese take this guy to rehab.) but over time i have grow to hate this album with its vocals (no jon anderson) (Probably because Jon Anderson never sung with Genesis), and guitar. if you want a real alum try 'dark side of the moon' or rush's 2112 or better yet pink floyds atom heat mother a true prog album. (For God's sake, nothing but a bunch of BS) | |
I believe that when this kind of behaviour is so obvious, the worst punishment is to delete all the reviews by the same author and send them to oblivium, because is logical to believe that the positive ones are also created to push those albums to the top of our chart.

Iván, sometimes certain bands/albums suffer attacks from fanboys but they have been neutralised (I guess). Gracias, fellow!
Mikeypoo, to be dealt with... thanks!
BTW, soon reviewers without an e-mail adress (black signatures) will be history!

GENESIS — Seconds Out
Review by
jamie-leighton
Phil Collins definitely shlacked up Genesis in the 80s. However, he is still a great drummer.
Even though most of the material comes from a Trick of Tail, this sounds more alive than
the studio album. It may be Genesis' best, and definitely the best post-Gabriel album.
-------
up to me,poor and irrelevant really...
apart from that...
"this sounds more alive than
the studio album"
well,doh!!

GENESIS — The Silent Sun / That's Me
Review by
jamie-leighton
I don't know why, but this is a very unusual album. There is nothing like these songs. The
songs have a simplicity and interesting quality unlike anything I've ever heard. It is less
instrumental than later Genesis. Gabriel's voice is there. I think this album is great.
---------
same thing...
apart from that...
"very unusual album" - single, not album.
"Gabriel's voice is there" - ...........WHAT?!..........RLY?!
------
sorry for the sarcasm break...
still I say remove these and tell jaime to work a little harder on an impression review...

HAMMILL, PETER — Veracious
Review by
Gerardathotmail
Peter Hammill is a wannabesymfo.
Just listened to a few songs on this site and they're all pretty said.
I can't imagine anyone can listen to his music for more the 1 minute.
I read the following comment of a listener:
At first, I felt a utterly disappointed by this album. Somehow, I forced myself to repeated
listenings of the album, and the good news is that the album grows on you.
Haha, what a comment.....just buy a CD at your recordstore.....just pick one,
can be The Spice Girls or Michael Jackson,....and force yourself to repeated listenings of
this album. Don't be surprised that you'll end up being a Spice Girls fan.
So: Poor. Only for completionists
----------
please tell me this cannot stay...
those two paragraphs are total mockery...
please,in the name of what's saint and usefull, exit this total Hammill unexperienced out...

More to the point, it's pretty clear that whoever posted this has never actually heard the album he's reviewing - Peter Hammill is a wannabesymfo. Just listened to a few songs on this site and they're all pretty said - whatever a wannabesymfo might be.

I agree and wanted to report this "review" by myself. That's just not
the quality we should maintain at Progarchive. I'm not taliking about
the stars but the missing arguments and the style throughout.

PINK FLOYD — AnimalsReview by eliostar1
This is an absolute masterpiece and anyone who does not recognise that does not really get Pink Floyd and especially Roger Waters. The music is just stunning, lyrically it is not in the class of Dark side or the Wall, but the sound makes up for it and then some.
If you dont recognize Animals as a masterpiece, then you dont get Pink Floyd?
well.. i love animals, but this review is not so good..it doesnt say anything ...

definately the worst album ever released. i can't believe bands like genesis have become so incredibly popular over the years when bands like 'As the dying ashes bleed' still lay out there un-noticed. this is a digrace! Poor. Only for completionists? that's too generous. if only i could give this 'music' 0!

I'm quite certain the reviewer is being ironic. Proof - using clicheed expressions like 'worst album ever released', 'giving it 0', 'disgrace' etc. And SEbtP is on top of the prog 100, and 'As the dying ashes bleed' is in all likelihood a joke band, a parody of the emo scene. Someone's simply joking around.
Nevertheless, there's no room for such jokes here, I agree it should be deleted.

Neo Progressive (Studio Album, 2003) Avg: 4.29/5 from 37 ratings SATELLITE — A Street Between Sunrise And SunsetReview by Roman W. (Roman Walczak)
"Na Wojtusia z popielnika iskiereczka mruga..."
Firstly I have to say that times of the songs are incorrect, and my CD don't contain song "Bye Bye Bye". That's by the way.
I could only write...
Evening Wind 10/10 On The Run 10/10 Midnight Snow 10/10 No Disgrace 10/10 Not Afraid 10/10 Now 10/10 Fight 10/10 A Street Between Sunrise And Sunset 10/10 Children 10/10
But I will also say that... It's an amazing, beautiful, gorgeous, marvelous CD!
And that's all I wanted to say. BUY IT!
P.S. And correct songs!
