DEEP PURPLE "Made In Japan" ![]() I give one star to Deep Purple, Made in Japan because it contains the song Child in Time which is plagiarism of the song Bombay Calling from the first, self-titled album of the San Francisco based rock band It's a beautiful day. Now, guys, can I get some clarification what's wrong with my review of Deep Purple?
The Child in Time is obvious plagiarism and I guess it is OK to state it clearly. Also, it is quite a usual practice that works containing plagiarism cannot pass, no matter of the quality of the rest of the material. In fact it is unusal to do other way. So, what's going on here? |

Well, you said everything "works containing plagiarism cannot pass"; in this case also, either reviews were equal. |

Atkingani, I don't think it is appropriate answer.
I'll try again - where is the problem, and what should I do to make my reviews of these two albums acceptable? As far as I see, they satisfy all rules - except maybe for one unsubstantial mistake in one of them. I assure you and other readers that I wrote these reviews and posts in good will, and according to my best knowledge. |

And yet, Child In Time manages to remain one of the greatest hard rock compositions ever.
Are you sure you're not mistaken? I've never heard about this anowhere else, being a huge Purple fan for years now. To make your reviews acceptable, mention something about the music, quality of that music and musicianship. Just saying that the whole album sucks because of one song being (agruably) plagiarized won't do. |

In fact, you provided the answer, Kazimir. However, I'm inviting you to do write and resubmit the 2 deleted reviews. I'm totally sure you are able to write reviews in the same way you did for Bacamarte's album.

If you do not believe me, well, try it for yourself. By the way, Gillan admitted it recently.
In less official form like forum, I can comment that Japan and In Rock are otherwise excelent works. However, such comment has no place in a review, because it is unfair that plagiator get any praise for his work until the problem is removed. In fact, if anything should be deleted, it has more sense to delete reviews that ignore the plagiarism fact, because they perpetuate injustice done by essentially criminal act. Of course, its not up to me to define progarchives policy. Oh, well, nothing I can do ... |

FOREVER CLASSIC MUSIC OF THE XX CENTURY!!! This is another album that a time listened to... It will do it enchant yourselves some Classic Music of XX Century! It is not of evening an album Symphonic, because has a lot pf sub genre inclusive in this eternal Masterpiece. That genius Robert Fripp! "21st Century Schizoid Man including Mirrors" is a piece of Prog Metal (like a lot make note me), even if is too Prog! Large everything, but above all Fripp and Lake (listened to attentive the test of Giles at the drum, also), "I Talk To The Wind" is a sweet example of Pure Symphonic Prog, really immortal (is an of the better songs of the Crimson), "Epitaph including March For No Reason and Tomorrow And Tomorrow" is a piece to the VDGG that nevertheless can be put next to the pieces of Genesis (Gabriel Era), Gentle Giant without disfigure. And yet it is a song with a large personality! Besides it is totally different from "21st Century..." showing that the Prog has a lot (too much?) sub genre that often are alone variations of a same sub genre also to the inside of a same sub genre (hope to have expressed well the concept...). "Moonchild including The Dream and The Illusion" begins with a Jazz that in reality is not Jazz but Classic Music with a large work of Giles. Nevertheless then it it becomes too Psychedelic, improvvisation, Jazz free form, Futurism and Japanese music. Well, a sole many piece of Canterbury Scene! It Closes "The Court Of The Crimson king including The Return Of The Fire Witch and The Dance Of The Puppets" that return to the Hard Rock but if with enormous amounts of the Uriah Heep more Prog and an atmosphere a little one (but very little) more (and this is weird) cheerful. That album, mister, that album! It does not seem not even carved in 1969! For always yours, Mandrakeroot. --- PORCUPINE TREE "XM Live" ![]()
