10cc are prog in my opinion, especially albums like How Dare You, Original Soundtrack, and Deceptive Bends.

Hmmm, 10cc did that ultra-poppy, ultra-syrupy "I'm Not in Love" pop song

Very clever pop, but not prog in any way whatsoever - mind you, there was that Godley/Creme triple concept album Consequences (look it up if you don't believe me!). They were also responsible for Neanderthal Man by Hotlegs, which has to be worth something.

No.(Art Rock-ish)
They were the musicians on Ramases 1st album,Space Hymns.
If 10cc were a a prog band,so then were Wings.
10cc were a 'clever' rock band. The closest to prog that they got was Sheet Music which, sort of sounds like an Art Rock album anyway.

Definitely Prog related, especially LP's Original Soundtrack & How Dare You. Even though I'm Not In Love is a trite "poppy" it's done in an innovative way using multi-layered voces. They even invented their own instrument - The Gizmo - which Godley & Creme showcased on their tripple album Consequences featuring the ramblings of UK comic Peter Cook - now if that's not progressive?!?!

This has been discussed before in the past.
Indeed not prog at all but as some say they are mainly closer to Prog related/Art Pop music.

Art Rock.

I still like them.

Godley & Creme's Conesquences & L were prog.
Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

Well our internal collab poll did have them accepted as future inclusion in prog-related
let's just stay above the moral melee

content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

Late addition  from me ...
I'm browsing Erik Neuteboom's reviews & perchance what do I see - 10CC !
I was sure they would have been considered too poppish for some our more esoteric members. Now for me to go back, re-listen to the albums for the umpteenth time & come back with a review.
Art Rock would have been the perfect tag.

Can some Admin move this thread to the PP/PR Lounge, please? 10cc have been added for some time now.

I think it's best just to close this one Raf, as the decision has long since been made. As you say, 10CC can of course be discussed in the PP/PR section.
