Squire - Levin may be more versatile but Squire's playing is so distinctive

Chris Squire, followed by Levin, followed some way after by Greg Lake.

My personal favorite is Squire, but I think that Levin is the better player overall(more versatile).
Some cool bass-work by Mr.Lake: 21st Century Schizoid Man, Take A Pebble, Knife-Edge, Tank, Tarkus, Blues Variation, the Fugue in The Endless Enigma, Karn Evil 9: 1st Impression pt.1 & 2nd Impression, Fanfare For The Common Man

Exactly! I saw the ABW & H tour and Levin couldn't pull the
Squire licks off! It ruined the concert for me. I admire Levin but he
ain't no Chris Squire! |

Of course Yes is great but Levin has played and toured with everyone!
He's one hardworking musician! He's been in King Crinson, Peter
Gabriel's band for years, he even stood in for Squire in Anderson, Bruford,
Wakeman and Howe! So you could say he played the part of Chris
Squire's for a while. I don't think Chris could play Tony's parts.
He's starting a live tour this week with his own band now! It's Tony, Larry
Fast and Jerry Marotta with Jesse Gress from Todd Rudgren's band on
guitar. They are spectacular!
They just released thier 4th CD last week. It's called "Resonator". You
should get it, I know you will love it!
Tour dates are on Tony's website at www.tonylevin.com

I love all three, so it's a hard choice. In terms of bass-playing it
definitely comes down to Squire and Levin for me, but I have to choose
Squire. Levin is waaay more technically advanced than Squire and
he does some really great stuff on the Chapman Stick, but I just prefer
Squire's playing style.

Squire used to be my fav (well now he is number two, so it hasn´t change that much) but I noticed that Levin could do much more stuff in the bass due to the lack of a pick...and also I feld in love with the Stick, and Levin plays it...and his cotribution in Crimson are great...so...Lake!!!
hehehehe, naaaaaaaaaaaa Levin, Levin!!!
