Squire's my favourite and as I look towards picking up the bass myself, perhaps the one I'll be emulating the most.

Although I enjoy all three bassists greatly, Levin is clearly the most technically skilled. His skills on the Chapman stick are also quite amazing.

Both Squire and Levin are both incredible bass players. Each one has thier own
distinctive style and like apples and oranges, both quite tasty as well.

Chris Squire is the more technically gifted of the three & Levin struggled on some pieces when he toured with ABW&H if you listen to the boots out there. However, all three are legends IMO!

My favourite, among those, is Tony L, hands down.

I can't believe Squire is winning. Tony Levin is MUCH better. Squire is second for sure, but Levin is a god.

I voted for Greg Lake because he has the same initials as the best bass player -Geddy Lee

SQUIRE
o Roundabout
o The Gates of Delirium
o Close to the EDge
In my opinion, those songs have best bass tones in prog scene.
and..... Rickenbacker 4001/03 is sexy : )

Squire, no doubt about it! I best like his Fragile period, when all the yes sound was really based upon him!

Levin of those there, with Squire a close second. Lake is a very fine vocalist but a very average if solid bassist.
But none of them are as good as Jaco Pastorius or Victor Wooten.

Although Squire did some 'nice' parts (as mentioned above - Close to the Edge, Roundabout, etc.) and he contributes greatly to the Yessy sound, in comparison to Tony Levin technically, I'm afraid Tony wins hands down. Greg Lake, I sure like his voice on both King Crimson and ELP, but he's only average when it comes to playing bass.

Hands down, Chris Squire is a bass monster and wins, even Tony Levin is actually a bass god too. But listen again to these incredible bass lines in Close To The Edge, that must be from the other side!
