Blood  Sugar sex Magik!!!

Their funk masterpiece. It features the debut of John Frusciante on guitars!

All songs are great!

lotsa people do not think One Hot minute is a real RHCP, but I think it is their most inventive and presonal
let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

I agree. But it lacks the necessary funk that Blood Sugar Sex Magik and Mothers Milk has. (with the exception of Aeroplane of course)

BSSM, though I think their music is best served in compilation form.

None of their albums are really goo all the way through, though they're getting a bit better at that.

Blood Sugar Sex Magic.

After that the group never reached that level of quality: One Hot Minute with guitar player Dave Navarro didn't work really, although there are several good songs there; Californication is better but it lacks the energy of earlier works and it's very headed for mainstream and commercial purposes. By The Way is like a worse version of Californication. Too much commercial mid-tempo songs.

Nowadays RHCP is not a bad band, but in the days of Mother's Milk and BSSM they were one of the best bands in the world.

I find By The Way to be a very unique sounding album compared to anything else that I've heard, although there are a number of mid-tempo songs on there, there is also a number of good songs. Plus this album was my introduction into the music world.
