I got a cool event yestersday. I was playing with a friend in a grand piano on my university and we were doing a little "war of solos" ... playing the fastest solos/riffs we could play. After I played In The Cage solos, Fade to black solos, and the Firth of Fifth solo in 150% speed, some guy joined in saying he loves Genesis and prog rock and I ended up playing for him Bohemian Rhapsody, Heart of the Sunrise, bits of Close to the Edge/Awaken, Pink Floyd, etc

Any cool prog thing u wanna discuss? It's rare to see prog fans nowadays.

My actual (and hopefully final) girlfriend uses to listen to very lame music (check "Luis Miguel"), mostly because she lives in a small twon, and she lived all her live thinking that music was that. One day, when we were in the process of knowing each other, she kidnaped my CD player, as a joke (because the CD player is my surviving device, I almost never listen to the noises in the street, it sickens me). Well, the CD player had a Meredith Monk record inside. I think it was "Atlas". I'll never forget her face. She was absolutelly fascinated by Meredith's music. I gave her the CD. She has been a prog / experimental / world music fan ever since, and she also want's to kill that "Luis Miguel" guy, because of distorting her idea of what music was...

A friend of mine got me into prog as he would bring his cheap acoustic guitar to 6th form with him and play Dream Theater, Symphony X, Marillion and other stuff on it. Watching him play really got me looking for prog.
Spending more than I should on Prog since 2005
