I am a guitarist, and I am fine with my guitar equipment, but I need a little something else. I am allready hoping to get a theremin real soon, which through my effects would sound like Hawkwind Spacerock etc... but I need something a bit more like a VC3 also (but a lot less than £4000). I am not really wanting to go over £100, so it must be a small little something, that would only get used once or twice per concert, but would be interesting to hear. I like the VC3 sounds, but technology has moved on since the early 1970s (its got smaller!!!) so what is out there? I could make a kit, my theremin is going to be in kit form anyway... Also, not a keyboard! Just a box with a few tricks inside, like osccilator, trem (square wave!!!!). I have been looking at analogue synths, but they are too expensive. I don't want to play a vintage keyboard, I just want to make white noises etc... Edited by hawkbrock |

Why don't you try an Electro Harmonix Micro Synthesizer, or a Lovetone Meatball?
Meatball: Micro Synthesizer: Analog synth for guitar From the classic vintage sounds of the great early Moog(tm) synthesizer to wild custom creations, the Micro Synthesizer for Guitar lets the player create those fat analog synthesizer sounds heard on records by everyone from George Clinton to the Police to the Chemical Brothers. The compact layout of ten slider controls lets the sonically adventurous guitarist dial in a virtually limitless array of analog synthesizer sounds. Either one of those added with a delay would be super, super awesome and spacerific!! I wish I were rich... Edited by tremulant |

Well, why don't you try something cheaper like a Digitech Whammy, Boss
Super Shifter (expression pedal is essential) or Boss Bass Synth (works
on guitar)?
They're much cheaper, and combined with a Delay, you'd be able to make some really crazy Space Rock sounds with relative ease. |
