Thanks, Tuzvihar... I generally paste all the stuff and then copy here. Everything comes: the review, the stars and the album image. Edited by Atkingani |

I'm not saying this review should be deleted, but it's a prime example of people giving 5 star reviews too easily. This album has 4 songs on it, he says one of them is "filler", one "seems forced", one is "just goofy" but has still given the album 5 stars on the basis of giving the 4th song "7 out of 5". Even that one he says "I could have lived without the children's chorus". How can an album be a 5 star one when you don't even like 50% of the tracks on it? http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=72510

Chopper Well, he "adjusted" the score giving 7 out of 5 for his preferred song. Anyway, if he says the album is in his TOP 5, it would be (for him) a 5*.

I take your point Atkingani. I still wonder why it's in his Top 5 when he doesn't like half the songs! He can't have heard many albums. What he's really saying is "Duel with the devil" is in his top 5 songs. |

He is not the first (and probably not the last) to rate highly an album due to a single song. |

What has specifically changed regarding the reviews? I've noticed that now you have to login in order to review, which is a good idea since most trolls would go away instead of wasting even more of their useless time. I was even joyful for a while, since it gave me a whole menu of reviews and even a profile, but then I realized it's a collaborator only thing. Isn't it? Anyway, there are more good sides for me. -- Ivan |

I don't know, it would still be possible to create a new account from a different PC or something, but I don't think most trolls would go that far. As for the rules, I'll be waiting! -- Ivan |

Not an inappropriate review, but I found that dagrush accidentally posted two reviews for Tool's AEnima. TOOL Ænima This could've been a five star album, but is instead hurt by excessive filler. Still their best, though.
Stinkfist - One of the best singles of the 90's, it's definitely a good one. I wish it was longer, though. 10/10. Eulogy - Much like the previous song, this should be a 10/10 song. Unlike the previous song, this has two minutes of near filler to kick it off. It's not terrible, but the song would be much better if it wasn't there. 8/10. H - Much like Stinkfist, a nice rocker. The album's opening trio is a good one. 9/10. Useful idiot - Like wasting time? This is the track for you. 1/10. 46 and 2 - H's cousin, another nice rocker. Not quite as nice, though. No word on where the prog went, though. 7/10. Message to Harry Manback - More time to waste? Once again, the track for you. Oh, Tool, I wish you wouldn't hurt your fans so. 1/10. Hooker with a penis - Most of Tool's lyrics are between bad and terrible. This is one shining exception. Still no word on where the prog went. 8/10. Intermission - The first short "song" that isn't actually filler. Essentially an intro to Jimmy, this is a nice little track that attempts to keep the mood like in the midst of all these songs about sodomy, L. Ron Hubbard, heroin and selling out. 8/10. Jimmy - H and 46 and 2's other cousin... and what do you know? Still just straight ahead rock. 7/10. Die eier von Satan - It's half filler, half rocker, mostly a waste. No point in further analysis, there's plenty of that going on elsewhere. 5/10. Pu[&*!#] - Ah, there's the prog. The second most progressive song on the album is a very good one. Not the best, but right up there. I prefer the version on Salival, though. 9/10. Cesaro summability - So we're at four fillers, but only one of them good. Yuck. 1/10. Ænema - At first, this was my favourite song on the album. Now, I don't feel quite as strongly, but it's still quite good. 8/10. Ions - And the fifth and final filler. Fifteen songs, five fillers. Boy, these guys know how to put together a cohesive album, don't they? 1/10. Third eye - Oddly enough, they saved the best for last. I believe this is the best song Tool has ever done and is an easy ace. 10/10. There are numerous good songs on here. Unfortunately, 1/3 of the album's tracks are fillers. So I can't give it a perfect rating. But it's still an easy four. Posted Friday, December 02, 2005, 20:37 EST | Permanent link
edit - also, I just found this really short one which doesn't really tell anything about the album: TOOL Lateralus I was dissapointed.I expected more out of this album. Dont get me wrong its a decent album but i thought it could be so much better. The best songs are The title track and the last one. Its not the worst album ever. But there are much better out there in trems of prog.

Please don't report duplicate reviews for the time being. They are probably not duplicates, just a bug in the changes M@X has been making to the site. Just to clarify too, the rules (i.e. guidelines) are not being changed at this time, just the procedure for posting reviews. |

STRIDE "Imagine"
![]() Yes this is one of the best prog albums in 2005. Stride is a band with very specific optimistic atmosphere and the excellent songwriting.
When I listen to this album I have a big adrenaline level in very positive way. I think that one of the best elements on the album are the vocal parts which are very persuasive... Yes I like this band very much and looking forward for the next album, hope will bevery soon plus a bit better production please...
And this review??? |

KING CRIMSON "The Power To Believe"
![]() ELECTRONIC METAL?
How could it be defined this album? It it is an album Prog, Metal or thing? It it is not Metal, but it is not even Prog! In fact musucally we are to a mix between Electronic, Symphonic and Metal, not easy and immediate. I would dare to say difficult. I listened to this CD at least 20 times and I did not succeed still to understand where begins and where ends. Certainly there are songs like "Eyes Wide Open" that send again also too much to the 70's, but the big problem is that this CD wants to go to write new resonant pages. And I do not know until that I push good. Erred, because it has been not not even an ugly CD. But it deserved to go out least 30 years does. And if done not love the novelty is better to leave lose it. For always yours, Mandrakeroot.
Do you understand this review???

BEATLES, THE "Please Please Me"
![]() This album is not progressive in any way. The Beatles only started moving toward that vein of songwriting once "Help" and "Rubber Soul" came out, in my opinion. Before that, they were just typical pop stars. I'm not saying it's a bad album, it's just not progressive, and features pre-drug Beatles that had much more naive views on the world, and wrote love songs out the ass. It's The Beatles first album, that's all. Nothing great about it other than the genious that was always there from the beggining, but did not begin to truly take shape until the drugs were introduced to their lives. That's the honest truth.
