Curious as we get nearer to the date, there seems to be less postings in this thread

Time for a recap

Meeting time and place : Saturday March 18th @ 11h30 at ______________ (Erik if you could give the street adress yet, again, another time?)

Is anyone bringing CDs they are interested in trading (so I am not the only one doing so!)

Who is picking up the French delegation at Holland Spoorweg (I am still not sure if Den Haag Centraal is Holland Spoorweg - azccording to maps it is and reading this thread it is not so sure)

Let's exchange mobile numbers via PM's just in case

no real sense in listing out who is coming or not, I believe we know mostly who is and who is not

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

I will pick up the French delegation but I hope along with Joren and Glasshouse (PM please). I think the best place to make an appointment is in the center hall of the Holland Spoor Station (Den Haag Centraal is another train station, it is more a final destination  ). If you are not sure about something, please PM me, before Saturday we will have everything arranged, OK?

We look ahead for miles down our avenue of lights
We motor past the airport in the flatness of the night
Its fairy beads reflected in the shining of your eye

Can it be that there's so many
That have been through this whole scene before

Staring at the ground, for I knew not what to do
I turned full around, and found myself, in you.

The water looks so placid, to deny that it's a threat,
Our weary faces smiling, with the energy that's left,
Your flowing now has reached me, and I feel I want to stay

There's no need for a reason
We switched off our thinking hours ago

Still we're driving onward, moving steady as a plane,
Moonbug cars flash past us as we head the other way
Across the dyke of worry, to a Nederlander dream

Now the morning opens slowly,
On what seems a very special day

...

Once again let me vigorously press the jealousy button during the entire weekend. Think of me tending to the needs of my Mother-In-Law while you all kick back and overdose on progtastic things full of proggy goodness.

Grrrrr.

I'm SO gonna be there for the Paris meet if that goes ahead!!

Yeah, but there's no song about The hague.

BTW, it reminds me of a synchronicity event:

I was in Amsterdam and i have bring my walkman and a tape choosen randomly. As i was walking stoned in the streets and feel the need for some music, i put a tape in my walkman and played...guess what? It was "driving to Amsterdam"...

I know a prog song that mentions the Hague, but it is slightly off topic.

"Oh blind, blinded, blinding hatred
of race, sex, religion, colour, country or creed,
they scream from the pages of everything I read!
You just give me oppression and torture,
apartheid, corruption and plague,
you just give me the rape of the planet
and joke world rights at the Hague!
Oh, someday the Millenium, but how far is someday away?"

Not exactly a welcome song to the Hague , but it is the only one I can think of in which it is mentioned.

You should not be disgusted by the Hague as a pro nuclear (1 Billion m3 of french nuclear garbage )

BTW, did you see the moving website about Tchernobyl i've posted in the nuclear thread?

Damn, I wish I could make it, but obviously I can't, but guys and girls, do give us an update of how things are going if possible!  Hugues can message us, can't you Hugues!

I have family visiting this weekend, so I won't even be out and about in good old blightly.

Ah, I have that Khan song!

I know you're not going to Amsterdam, but Amsterdamage by Hatfield and The North is another tune that needs to be spun (or played, there is less spinning involved these days).

Did I hear something about a France meeting?

Is it also possible for another England meeting too?  Richardh is from the same town as me I believe, so maybe if he's up for it, we could travel together?

The latest plan:

The French delegation is picked up at 1130 at Den Haag Holland Spoor Station by citizens Erik and Glasshouse and brought to their hotel by tram (9 + 3). After leaving the luggage in the hotel  Glasshouse and Erik go with the French progheads to Het Plein where we meet Sean, Joren, the UK men and the Germans at about 1300-1330 near the fence of Het Mauritshuis (part of Het Plein).

Then: records shops, sightseeing, coffee shops ( ), a beer and a drink, sightseeing ... a beer and a drink and a dinner ....

Is this OK to you?

You should, that's moving.

Moreover, as a french reader, it's even more interesting:
