My favourite is Tony Banks, a fantastic & beautiful album followed by Steve Hackett's Acolyte!

If someone asks who the hell voted for Face Value, its me 
Face Value is one of the best pop-albums ever created. I love itm sorry boys but it crushes
even Voyage of the acolyte

If I had to choose a song from the albums it had to be Gabriels - Here comes the flood. I like Smallcreep´s day, Not that keen on Collins or Hacketts. Haven´t heard all of Banks album. But I always go back and listens to Geese & the Ghost and always find new favourite bits. Best 1st solo album is by Ant Phillips!

'Voyage Of The Acolyte' is probably Hackett's finest hour, and by my estimation the finest solo album any band members ever attempted, so that's a no brainer for me.
As for 'Face Value', I don't think it's a bad album at all (ducks). I don't have it now, but I had it a few years ago and always enjoyed the album considerably. It had the feel of John Martyn's solo work at times (one track I think was a co-write; 'If Leaving Me Is Easy') in its sense of experimentation. However, Collins has managed two songs worth listening to since that album- 'Thru These Walls' and 'Both Sides', two excellent tracks imo. The rest is MOR pap.

My vote goes for Peter Gabriel although i like "Voyage of the acolyte" (but I think "Please don't touch" & "Spectral mornings" are the better Steve Hackett's albums)

I am seriously beginning to doubt you Genesis fans about your taste and credentials about prog music in general. When I see 'Smallcreeps Day' below Banks, Collins and Hacketts debuts my doubts are founded. Rutherford's album is the only Genesis solo masterpiece!

For me it's exactly the other way around. Hackett's and Banks' albums feature magnificent, breathtaking music!
Rutherford's album has some great moments as well.
Gabriel's and Collins' first albums are okay with me: both innovative (even the first Collins' album) but they don't touch me emotionally. Well, Gabriel's album sometimes.
I could never get into Phillips' first, even though I like some of his later Private Parts and Pieces and more official albums.

I'm with the majority on this one; Voyage of the Acolyte is my favourite off that list. Peter Gabriel and Geese & The Ghost are also strong contenders, and I still dig them out from time to time.
I haven't heard either Smallcreep's Day or A Curious Feeling for many years, but neither made much impression on me - I may give them another try.
To give Phil Collins his due, Face Value is superbly crafted but it's the kind of slick, slightly anonymous 80s pop that leaves me cold. Still, it probably sold more copies than all the other 5 albums combined so I doubt that he's too bothered about my opinion!

Sadly, I haven't heard The Geese and the Ghost or Smallcreeps Day yet, so i'm picking between the other four.
Voyage of the Acolyte is IMHO the best post-Gabriel Genesis album (even when Banks isn't on it) and the only one I would rate 5 stars. If I'm informed correctly most of this music was originaly written to be used by the band. Maybe this is why it has that special "mood" you find in early Genesis. A must-have for fans of that stuff, unless you don't like instrumental records.

Voyage of the Acolyte is as good a record as you'll find in all of prog, IMO. It's in my top 10 all-time favorite albums of any kind.

Voyage of the Acyolyte followed very closely by A Curious Feeling.
I think Banks solo debut is very underrated and features some of the great prog moments, but isn't quite as consistent as Voyage
