Fugazi.  Put the headphones on and turn them up to ten.  The opening riff will bow you away.

Thanks beforehand and apologise for my irritating nature

I like both albums, but Fugazi gets my vote. It's more consistent throughout, in fact I would say 'She Chameleon' is the only weak track on Fugazi, and even thats not bad.

I would say Fugazi is almost right up there with 'Script..' and only benefits only from a better drummer..

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

I'm not very familiar with Fugazi, but what I've heard of it sounds very similar to Script in sound, not particularly distinguished from it, I could be wrong though. I love the sound, but Clutching at Straws, that's one phenomenal album. Fugazi would probably need something really surprising on it, to put it above Clutching at Straws, for me.

Fugazi has a mutch darker atmospher to it than Script..., the lyricel content is also much more paranoid than on Script..

Spending more than I should on Prog since 2005

To tell the truth I don't remember the last time I've heard the Marillion albuns with Fish... they are so neo-prog... I prefer the Hogarth era !

But 'Clutching' for me exists only after the horrible 'Incomunicado' (the previous songs are so boring...). From 'Torch Song' til the end the album really improves...

'Fugazi' is more neo, but the songs are better and more proggy... My vote go for it...

All of the Fish era albums are brilliant. Lately I've been listening to Clutching at Straws a lot, but Fugazi is still my favourite.

I'll go with Fugazi today.

Maybe CAS tomorrow

Fugazi has always been my favorite Fish-era Marilllion release. It is so full of power and emotion, and it is really quite dark. The songs Fugazi, Incubus, She Chameleon are classic, there is not a weak track on the album.

hey!

you can hardly compare those 2 albums! they are completely different!

Fugazi contains the best guitar solos in the prog history and one of the cleanest, most dynamic and loudest sound (comparable to Saga - Heads or Tales or Rush - Power Windows), while clutching is an outstanding atmospheric concept album that must be fully listened to really appreciate!

in other words,

CAS = CHILL, RELAX, INTROSPECTIVE!

FUGAZI = BOMBASTIC, REFRESHING, SPINE TINGLING!

I love them both, although I slightly prefer CAS!

Fugazi has slipped all the way down in my affections to being the least favourite of the 4 Fish era studio albums ... I like Jigsaw, Incubus and the title track, but the other songs have lost their lustre ...

While i do agree that Clutching At Straws is the less progressive of the two albums, I still enjoy it more ...

"Death to Utopia! Death to faith! Death to love! Death to hope?" thunders the 20th century. "Surrender, you pathetic dreamer.”

"No" replies the unhumbled optimist "You are only the present."
