I found a better version of the Firth of Fifth intro that's laid out neater than Yaksongs version.

Well, Im two years older now so make that 5-6
Actually, other than Mike Giles on KC's two first albums, it was Phil Collins drumming on the early Genesis albums that made me take my drumming seriously. He's actually one of my favorite drummers!

Very nice. I also play drums. That song was on my practice list for a few years back 20 years ago. I really dug the 7/8 jam in the middle. I still play that main pattern on occasion.

I don't play, but I do have a couple of interesting stories about it. I was listening to Genesis one day, and the intro to "Firth of Fifth" started. My mother, who was a concert pianist, rushed in and asked "What is that?" She became a Genesis fan that day.
When I was in college, we had a piano in the fraternity house. One day, one of the guys sat down to play. Imagine my surprise when he effortlessly went into the "Firth of Fith" intro. |

I used to play it mainly to show off (and it was FUN) ... it took me dozens of hours but I managed to play the intro and an acceptable-enough piano version of all the rest.
I forgot it. |

I'm working on the whole thing for solo piano at the moment. I'm trying to get the same arpeggio style of the intro through the verses, but it's taking a fair bit of time, and I keep getting distracted... |

I found another nice one on youtube:
Check this out ! The youth has the future as they say. I can't get enough of this one. Just a Gabriel was missing and the production is awful of course but other than that .....
As I say this: watch the girl from 3:43 till 4:17, I think it's even better than Gabriel !! And how about "Hackett" ?
I mean how old are they: 14, 15 ? Amazing, isn't it ?

I got the synth solo down, but I can't get all of the opening without screwing it up somewhere.
