^what will they think of next?
Don't know why they pick on Kraftwerk so much though, after all, the electric guitar has only been around the last 80 years or so and even more recent for the axe welding rock 'n' roll stars they refer to. of course it's not an 'actual' air-guitar like this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Jimi-Hendrix-Original-Stolen-Air-Guita r_W0QQitemZ7389265523QQcategoryZ33039QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem ![]() and if you win the above auction you could then enter this competition http://www.thetek.co.uk/ ![]() |

Haha, I used to be
guitarist in an air band. We did air-playing to heavy metal songs and
did three gigs. Such a very, very sad thing to have done. Now I look
back and think "what the f**k was I thinking back then!?".

Nothing funny about air guitars!
I personally own a black Gibson SG, sunburst Gibson Les Paul, Rickenbacker 4001 bass/12 string double neck, Fender Jazz fretless bass guitar and a Chapman Stick (oh yes, and for acoustic work I usually use Ovation 6 & 12 strings...) Air guitar is a serious business. |

The equipment cost surprisingly little in monetary terms (especially when you factor in the 14 piece Tama Art-Star air drum kit I use as well), but quite a bit in embarrassement when I was caught by my mother, many years ago during the closing section of 'Musical Box' from 'Genesis Live' (I'd only just aquired the Rickenbacker double neck...) ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hmm... I might have to check out your distributor, I've had me eye on a Warr Guitar as well as a triple neck bass, 12 string, 6 string combo (similar to that of Chris Squire), and of course the double neck Rickenbacker. |

Do you have any recommendations (thanks Jim I expect that you play very well left handed. When I play Air-Guitar, I stick with the Parker Fly Custom or a Paul Reed Smith Dragon. When I play along with Holdsworth, though, I whip out my trusty Synthaxe and blow. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeett!

Good luck; I've never been able to get on with the Warr, myself - I find it too cumbersome (I had the same problem when I tried the Chapman Grand-Stick). It all depends on the length of your fingers and your dexterity, I guess... ![]()
Not really - each player has to use that which he's most comfortable with - personally, I use WD40 spray ![]() I can, however, recommend a different way to spell 'recommendation'
Sometimes I feel I actually play better with my left hand; let's face it though, any serious player needs both hands anyway... doesn't matter which way round they are. Nice air guitars, Mr D ![]() |
