 Topic: Rush’s Here Again

I only want to say that this is, for me, one of the better Rush songs. It has an incredible feeling. The vocal perfomance of Geddy Lee it's amazing and the Lifeson's solo it's one of his best. My question is: Why is this song so forget? I never heard anybody talking about it. Although this track belongs to their first cd (more rock, less prog), I think that have a level similar of the posterior great Rush's releases (1976-1981).
So, what do you think?

Love that song, I always thought it was one of their finest early
moments. In fact, the band I was in during college used to cover it.
People would comment on it after the set, and were always surprised to
learn it was Rush. Geddy oughta send me a royalty check, cause we were
probably responsible for selling a couple dozen of Rush's first. 
PS - The first band I was ever in (we were all between 12 and 14)
actually covered the ENTIRE Fountain of Lamneth. I kid you not. We
would play it for our friends and just get the strangest looks.

I have only heard Rush's first album once and don't remember Here Again.
It's probably a forgotten song because most people (even Rush fans) don't
own their first album. I own 11 rush albums and I don't even own the debut
so I think you can see why it would be a forgotton song.
But after this thread I will check the song out.

Maybe that is the reason. Anyway, a lot of people know "Working Man", the last track of their debut, it's a classic (remember "Working Man, a tribute to Rush", with collaborations of people of Dream Theater, Shadow Gallery, etc...). Well, the thing is that perhaps these two tracks (Here Again and Working Man) are the only clearly prog ones in the album and both are great. So I hope people will check them (especially Here Again). I will be happy if one (or more) person discovered the song after this post and enjoy it so much like me.

I like the 1st album, but I can't really recall Here Again, I guess it never made a lasting memory. On my Truck I have a sticker of the Rush logo from that album and a couple days back someone told me their album was their favorite, I hadn't heard that before

Is it just me or does the final part of the song (when Lifeson is on his final solo) have a rhythm similar to Comfortably Numb?

On their first album Rush is a band that is searching for its own formula, the compositions still has echoes from Cream, Led Zeppelin, The Who and The Yardbirds, bands that Rush covered in their very early period. I discovered Rush during the release of the 2 live LP All The World's A Stage and from A Farewell To Kings I bought all their albums. I have to admit that I hardly play the first album because only Here Again really delights me: moving bluesy climate, strong vocals and an excellent build-up guitar solo. So, as a Rush 74-86 fan, I simply analyse that their eponymous debut LP is not very interesting for me. From their next album Fly By Night they sounded more original, due to the arrival of the professor on the drumkit, Mr. Neil Peart  !

In any case, Confortably Numb could be similar to the final section of Here Again, Floyd song was release 6 years after.

I agree they were a band searching for their formula and they became soooo much better with the arrival of Neil Peart, but I still love their 1st album (including "Here Again"),as do I most Rush albums.

The song HERE AGAIN is probably one of the best songs on the first Rush album. It offers so much and is truly a great Rush song.
