Robert Fripp toured with G3 last year sometime. They had a few shows in Sao Paulo.

I think my favorite Guitarist is by far Robert Fripp
but i have seen G3 twice, and as a G3 guitarist the best for me is Steve Vai

Well I see Im the first one to vote for Johnson. All the other are amazingly fast and technically proficient axe slingers, but Johnson has to be one my all time faves, his playing is so fluid and tasty it sends chills up my spine.
BTW I had no idea Fripp played with G3 Ill have to check that out.

It would probably be Vai all out if it weren't for Petrucci's performance on An Evening with John Petrucci and Jordan Rudess, which I consider to be the most emotional, beautiful, well-crafted, and interesting instrumental-shred album I've ever heard.

Although Malmsteen is really arrogant at times and generally annoying all round with his posing and kicking on stage I really do think he is the best.
If you have the DVD- Live in Denver and watch his fingers on the fretboard, itīs mind boggling!
Of course Vai and Satriani are good, its just that Malmsteen has that edge
