It's Hendrix of course, the most innovative guitarist of all times, with Page coming in on second place. It is said that Clapton, whose fans had written "Clapton is god" on London walls, realized his own limitations when he heard Hendrix, but he's a stunnig guitarplayer as well. Beck and Gallagher are among the best blues guitarists ever. Blackmore isn't bad, but I don't see any reason why he should be the best of the old school. As for Iommi, he'll be remembered for his satanic riffs, but I wouldn't put him in first place either.
