The POS saboteur one is gone ...
"Death to Utopia! Death to faith! Death to love! Death to hope?" thunders the 20th century. "Surrender, you pathetic dreamer.”

"No" replies the unhumbled optimist "You are only the present."

Some people have absolutely NO IDEA of how to write a review.  And, BTW...could is be that the POS saboteur could also be the Genesis saboteur?

Better check this guy, his reviews are not offensive, but seems we have a Genesis fanboy who tries to take down anything not related with Genesis.

5 stars   The first top tier Genesis album. I apologize to all who have a soft spot for 'Trepass', I'm one of them, but this is where they matured some and took off. You can understand the origins with Trepass, but this exceeds any previous effort. Hacket and Collins are now rocking the band and the classic era line-up is in full swing. Sadly, only for four utterly amazing albums.

How about those vocals on 'Seven Stones'? A beautiful story also. In fact this album may be the most fantastical of Genesis album. What with - well all the songs. The story lines are pretty out their, but they also breed fanaticism from those who like it. Like myself.

Not to mention that 'Fountain of Salmacis' rocks in a way that no other prog songs do. Essential.

2 stars   A masterpiece of rock, although I cannot say that for it's prog elements. I think the plethora of forum topics discussing how prog this album really is has gotten to me. I think the songs are great. I particularly love 'Us and Them' but I cannot in good conscience consider this a staple of prog rock.

Lots of it is straightforward melody lines that are beautiful, well layered with other intruments, and well produced, but none the less they fall into pretty regular confines. I think the immense accessibility of the album generates some of my feelings. I know a handful of their fans - ney, a majority - who would never consider the music prog. They'd think we prog-heads are trying to assume some relevance where very little exists.

Again, this isn't to say I don't love Pink Floyd, but it's for fans only (albeit they have more than all other prog acts put together).

3 stars   I concede it's importance to prog by defering to more technical experts. On that rating I'd probably rate it a lot higher. Otherwise I'm less impressed. First track is pretty insipid. And that certainly isn't prog, it's blues. That could've ended up on a slightly adventurous Sabbath album.

Next two tracks I enjoy alright. Neither are superb. You do start to get that proggy feel when you listen to those. The sound was later improved and perfected by other bands.

Moonchild begins well, but man the next nine minutes seems to be isochronal with all the other material. We finally get to a rocking finish with 'In the Court...'. I'll hand that song. Broken off into segments all prog-style. I dig that.

3 stars   An awesome album. It's one track, so you run out of things to say when talking about them. I think it was a little too ambitious. Not that I can't get through it and love it all the time, but I think it could have been one side. The whole b-side isn't that great in comparison except for the celestial strings part - that was utter genious. It makes listening to the whole b-side that much more worth it. Truly great.

Otherwise I can't even think of the sections that much. I'm sure they exist, but I've listened to the album a whole lot and still cannot do it without investigation. Hooray for a Scots' contribution to prog, though.

5 stars   With songs like 'the Lamia', 'In the Cage', 'Carpet Crawlers', 'Chamber of 32 Doors', and 'Anyway' this album begs to be listened to. The music on this album is incredible. I'd probably select it for my desert island pick. What an incredible variety of music that sounds like so little other music. This is the double albums to beat them all. Don't need the Wall, Physical, White, or any of the other sub-par double albums. This here's the one.

And if you think the second record lacks, you've just not listened to it enough. I'm persoanlly partial to the first lp's B-side, but come on: Anyway? Light Dies Down? In the Rapids? Superb. Clearly essential.

5 stars   I think 'Supper's Ready' says it all. This is a prog masterpiece because of that song by itself. The ol' going through song by song is a rather flawed method of determining an album's quality. Now, first of, I like all the songs on this album. But getting back to the point. Why is Foxtrot so much better than an album like 'Red', 'A Trick of the Tail' or 'Moon Madness'? I'd probably agree they're more consistent. But I'd trade any of the later three songs for 'Supper's Ready' by itself. No one can even pretend their prog collection is decent, let alone complete is it doesn't contain 'Supper's Ready'. Epic.

You know I'm a Genesis fan, but when there's a chance of a guy that can be trying to manipulate with the ratings, it's better to check him.

They give 5 stars to they favorite band, three to the others, then they start giving one star to any other top ten.

4 stars   REALLY: 4,49 (VERY GOOD BUY!!! Excellent addition in your discography)

Hendrix played Prog? to hear Nico Di Palo (New Trolls) and above Bambi Fossati... Certain! And "Nuda" it would deserve alone for this. and yet "Maya Desnuda" (that is dedicated to Goya or, like in the disc it is understood, to Valentina of Guido Crepax represented in the sexy cover?), "26 Febbraio1700", "L'ultima Graziosa" and the suite "Moretto Da Brescia" shine of actual light. Hendrix played Prog... (and I have not doubtful). But it sang better.

I generally read all reviews by NELNOMEDELPROG and generally do not understand them (but I cannot complain since English isn't my first language too). But what makes me crazy is the two decimal system of ratings he uses. Why 4,49? Is there an Excel table or a matrix to do it that we aren't aware about?

OMEGA (HR) 10 000 lépés (Omega 2)
Review (Permanent link) by hdfisch @ 3:03:41 PM EST, 8/27/2005

PROG REVIEWER

2 stars  —  Their second one actually starts even worse than their debut album with a folk pop tune featuring quite ridiculous sounding vocals (not by the lyrics, I don't speak Hungarian, but just by the voice). Second one is a more or less cheesy and lovely ballad and next one a quite up-tempo one with good rocking guitar riffing, but nothing special. On track 5 they feature again nice flute playing combined with percussion and Hammond sound as well a great drum solo. So far the longest and best piece by them and in some way an ignition point for the album to become much better. At least for the next two songs which are very good psychedelic rock ones. Then there is a funny boogie woogie, a slower tune and a rock'n'roll one which are ok but nothing special. So finally three good tracks on here which does still not justify IMO to call it a very good album or even an essential one. With one eye (or ear) closed I could rate it with 3 stars.

What ? ????

In the PROGARCHIVES REVIEWS GUIDELINES in the point 6 says: " We suggest you listen to an album several times before writing a review. It can take a number of listens to Prog albums in particular to begin to appreciate the music."
