I know this might seem silly but i'm interested in seeing which album the general public thinks is the stronger overall.

For me it is 'The Yes album', I feel it is more cohesive, with slightly stronger songs, and a lot more innovative. Red is an excellent album so please, don't tell me what I already know. There are a couple of things I don't like about it, 'Providence' I feel is Reds 'Moonchild', only funnily enough, not as good!  King Crimson are much better at jamming and improvising live, that's why the album 'Starless and Bible Black' has such strong tracks.

It's also slightly less 'Progressive' in that most of the songs are a lot more basic eg. Red, Fallen Angel. Though the latter is my favourite song on the album. However 'Starless' is possibly the best, very moving at one point, exciting the next.

What do you guys think!? I predict Red will win as it seems to have more followers.

It has much more power I think, don't get me wrong The Yes Album is great but Red is just one of those landmark albums that sends shivers down my spine.

go with the Yes album... for the simple fact that s has ended up as 'vol. 1' of Yes's greatest hits.  Damn near every song on it are considered Yes 'classics'

Both strong, but the Yes album is the strongest of the two. Not overall (Red has a better equilibrium), but side 1 of The Yes Album is very very very strong.

Side two, 'Ive Seen All Good People', 'Perpetual change', I think these are equal to the tracks on the first side, nearly  All great tracks though

The Yes Album by miles. I don't like KC at all and The Yes Album is Yes's best.

Both excellent albums, though I find The Yes Album more even and complete than Red. But overall: Can't really decide.

Is this some kind of joke?  I mean, I like The Yes Album, but to compare it to Red?  First of all King Crimson is the most innovative and interesting band of all time.  Red is Fripp's greatest masterpiece from the 1970's.  If you were asking about Close to the Edge, or Relayer then it might be worth talking about, although Red is still much greater than those albums as well.  If you think the title track is "basic" then you need to listen to it again.

Red for me, because I like King Crimson at least 10X more than I like Yes, although I still love Yes...

The Yes Album is a good album of course, but to me Red is an album that is completely classic and everyone should own it--I can't personally say the same about the Yes Album

I'm a reasonable man, get off my case
