Yeah...in a word, they could start a thread and write 200 words about what they are up to, or PM an Admin.... we could have a separate 'messages from band members' area, surely. |

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

That's a bit different from a band member writing out 20 questions and asking them to himself. I don't think we'd really want confirmation that our beloved proggers are lunatics. |

Again....what makes it 5 stars?
TWIN AGE "Lialim High" This "young" group among progNeo and Progsymphonic groups is fantastic. This Album I consider as one of my few favourite album I listen to when other music sucks. It's appearently not a well known proggressive group here in Sweden, and that's strange.

Yeah, I dunno... have you ever listened to "First Base"? I personally was surprised to come across Babe Ruth here a few months back. I would have never pegged them as even remotely "Art Rock", probably not even "Prog Related", any more than early Fleetwood Mac or maybe Blues Image. Ramatam is the closest thing I've heard to these guys, and they sure aren't here. Hip-hop though -- huh. Who'd have thunk it... |

QUEEN "A Day At The Races*"
Review (Permanent link) by chas2u Posted 7:54:01 PM EST, 1/29/2006 No Bohemian here.....
But still indelibly Queen, terrific vocal harmony, and Queen sound. This album is so underrated because the album doesnt have a standout classic, all songs are evenly fine.... Poppy progressive rock but so what :D |

RUSH "Moving Pictures"
Review (Permanent link) by Louis Préfontaine Posted 5:49:20 PM EST, 1/29/2006 3,4/5.0
This is really not a bad album, far from it. This is still Rush, with great guitar and keyboards, however I just don't enjoy that much the 80s sound. "XYZ" is probably the best sound on the album, but somehow I would rather consider this album as one of the first neo-progressive album as opposed to a 'late-bloomer' real prog disc. I think the right description could in fact be 'neo-rock-prog'. All that said, this is still a good (but not essential) album, very enjoyable and imaginative.

QUELLA VECCHIA LOCANDA "Il Tempo Della Gioia "
SOMEONE TO TRANSLATE? He wrote about the album and songs...

You can always rely on Babelfish for a good laugh - "This e' one of best the Band di Italian Prog, although it has been forgotten too much in a hurry like very many others band about that period. Their according to disc, they sure give them to rockeggianti airs little first respect al, e' truly exceptional and, said, a lot little Italian musical contained nei!! To times it sends back echoes of the Crimson to times of the Gentle Giant to time seems to graze the jazz, insomma, every trace of this I furrow is strange for thoroughness and varieta' of the proposal!! Great start on Villa Doria Pamphili, evidently inspired from the presence of the band in one of piu' important festival the POP svoltosi in omonimo the roman park. Optimal the title track, true pearl prog of the disc, impreziosita from the games between the keyboards and violino and very executed in the voice and the choruses. "gorno a friend" e' an other example of the largeness of this band, of their way to make prog, while piu' they experiments appare"E' happened a night", in which can be traced of the jazzistici callbacks evidently inborn in the DNA of these optimal musicians!! Even if various from the first CD, I love this like previous and the check 5 stars!!!" Makes sense to me. |

Honestly, I've never heard Babe Ruth, much less heard OF them. The reason I put it here in this forum is because...well; the terms "hip-hop" and "prog" don't jibe. I don't think the reviewer quite knows what he's talking about, to be honest. |

I'm not using a "translator", but the meaning is more or less the following: This is one of the best Italian-prog bands, though it has been forgotten too soon, like many other bands of that period. Their second album, less rock compared to the first one, is absolutely outstanding and, in my opinion, it sounds musically less Italian! Sometimes you can hear reminiscences of King Crimson and Gentle Giant, sometimes it sounds jazzy… In the whole, all the tracks of this album surprise because of their variety and completeness! The great opener “Villa Doria Pamphili” is evidently inspired by the performance of the band in one of the most important pop-festivals in

PORCUPINE TREE "Coma Divine Live"
Review (Permanent link) by Toomio Posted 6:04:23 AM EST, 2/1/2006
Best listened at night-time. Dim moods and magical sounds are conquering. I specially
like Radioactive toy. I recommend this album. It's very good live-album, but not so
essential album if compare in other PT-albums.
Short and inexpressive... |
