ITCOTCK

But Hot Rats was close behind.

Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive

The Beatles - Abbey Road was the best album ever
made before the 70's. No competition comes close!
IMHO

Come on folkes, this is where it all came from! This
is one of the top 5 albums ever made in Rock n Roll,
everyone pays homage to this one!

Heavier than either of Blue Cheer's first two albums?

I must check it out!

You better believe it! The first 2 albums of High Tide, especially Sea Shanties, were the first Prog Metal records ever.

A few people already mentioned it, but it's a pity you left out Tull's Stand Up. Fantastic album, my vote would probably have gone to it. As is, I voted for Led Zeppelin II, with Led Zeppelin I, ItCotCK and Abbey Road coming very close in greatness.
