does anyone know how to rip a dvd onto a hard drive? Ive got a dvd of a recent gig my band did and I need to rip it in order to copy it.

Do you want to rip the audio or make a copy of the DVD?

You need specialised software designed to rip audio from DVDs if audio is the case.

If its a copy any burner will do that, unless it's a professional production that has been copy protected. DVDshrink will do the job there, though- it's free

Yep DVDShrink will do the job.

Also CloneDVD but I think this is commercial software.

Yo can use DVDShrink and Nero or CloneDVD to make a DVD copy
.
but if you want a (S)VCD yo can use DVDx, is freeware.
