Finished Marquez

Started Franz Kafka "Amerika"

That reminds me, I have to finish Franz Kafka's "The Trial".  Well, he never finished it, but you know what I mean!

I also have to finish Charles Dickens "Martin Chuzzlewit" too.  I'm slacking!

Ah thanks Ricochet.  The Metamophosis is outstanding and one of my favourites.

The other one I want to read of his is: In the Penal Colony

Apparently that one is quite dark.

Can you recommend anything else by him?

Not yet no, but I thought The Castle was unfinished as well?  Not that I am complaining about unfinished works, it's just I like completeness.

I've only read The Metamorphosis and half of The Trial, but I have translations of In the Penal Colony, A Hunger Artist, A Country Doctor, The Great Wall of China and some of his short stories.  I unfortunately don't have The Castle, The Judgment or Amerika.

I'm still a Kafka Neophyte... I've only read The Metamorphosis () and I'm reading "The Trial" (Which in Spanish is translated as "The Process")

I need more Kafka...

I love latin/mexican literature, so I'm always reading something from Agusto Monterroso or Mario Benedetti

Try out Peter Hammill's Prog Rock Opera - "The Fall Of The House Of Usher".  I've yet to hear it, but I plan too.  I actually started to read Edgar Allan Poe's original story once and stopped, not because I wasn't enjoying it, I just got sidetracked and forgot to finish it, so that's another on my list to add.

If you like horror based stuff, try: Edgar Bulwer-Lytton's "The Haunters and The Haunted".  Be careful though, there a two different books based on the same story, one an extended version.  Bulwer-Lytton just expanded on it.

Is The Castle finished? If it is, it doesn't really have an end.
