Who is the greatest classical Guitarist?
I say it is Jose Feliciano.

I think this topic will be moved...
Otherwise, I'd mention the great Andrés Segovia, but I also recommend Brazilian Turíbio Santos.

I will suggest Pepe Romero and Julian Bream for consideration.

John Williams (no, not the American composer, the Australian classical guitarist). He took classical playing to new levels. His work with Sky was interesting as well.

Spanish and Classical guitars are built somewhat differently and sound
slightly different, and therefore attract different types of guitarists
and styles of music; the classical guitarist often adopts quite a
different playing stance, e.g one foot on a rest.
Therefore if we are being strict with our terminology: Spanish
guitar/guitarists will include Paco De Luca, etc. Classical
guitar/guitarists have to include those who play the classical
repertoise, Segovia, Bream, John Williams. But also Steve Hackett to
Ralph Towner and the new Italian master of acoustic jazz fusion
Antionnio Forcione. On a broader base and focussing on the folkies (who
would more likely play hybrids of Spanish/Classical guitars: Bert
Jansch, John Renbourne, Davey Graham, Richard Thompson, Gary
Lucas, Ry Cooder, Leo Kottke, John Fahey, Steve Tiltson (who's
1971 release An Acoustic Confusion has just been reissued on CD, a guy
with a Nick Drake-like voice who was also a master of the acoustic) and
somebody who plays luthier Rob Armstrong built guitars, including
the all plastic bodied guitar, colleagues and I were involved in
the design, Gordon Giltrap. Then you have the semi-metal bodied
guitars/guitarists, (e.g sound boards and/or soundchambers made of
sheet metal): Gary Lucas (again) , Bob Brozman, etc. etc.

Typical classical guitarplayers I love are Julian Bream and John Williams (who made as a duo splendid albums).
Flamenco guitarplayers who played classical pieces I love are Paco De Lucia and Pepe Romero (and Los Romeros).
By the way, one of the best flamenco guitarists is Sabicas, I recommend his DVD King Of The Flamenco Guitar!

It's a toss up between Segovia and De Lucia.

I don't know very much about classical guitarists, yet John Williams is awesome...
