KAYAK "Merlin - Bard of the Unseen"
Review (Permanent link) by camila scatta
Posted 3:49:45 PM EST, 1/14/2006

I am marvelled by this Kayak's masterpiece. This band isn't much known in my country but it should be. They should be more heard on radios, more broadcasted. This album undobtedly is excellent highlighting the power of the voices and the atmosphere created by keyboards to intensify the history or legend of King Arthur and Wizard Merlin. I had translated the lyrics and the poetry is very exquisite... I became totally astonished. Any Kayak fan willing to contact me, please send a message to my e-mail (sic). Cheers!

Hmmmm... if she translated the lyrics why didn't she write in English?

About the review in Italian... it is full of abbreviations and stufflike so it's very risky for a non-Italian speaker to write a foolishness.

5 stars   this album needs no long winded speech, it's impossible to describe and a waste of time to try. if you have any respect for the idea that music is an art form, then this is an album you should have.

uh...yeah...

MARILLION Anoraknophobia
Review (Permanent link) by James D Hill @ 4:19:28 AM EST, 11/16/2003

5 stars  —  This is a great album but what the [%*!#] is the knock about neo prog. That is a slap in the face prog fans that filled Marillions wallets for years.talk about bitting the hand who feeds. The fruit of the Wild Rose is great.

YES Close to the Edge
Review (Permanent link) by vlado @ 3:59:33 PM EST, 10/18/2004

5 stars  —  Some say that YES is not a real living music cause there have been no followers of theirs. But I think that the real masters should have no followers. They are creating something unique, not repeatable. Like Mozart, Bach or other masters of tones. Certainly, all the alleys are blind eventually. But the views out from the ends of these alleys, out from the very close to the edge are wonderful.

GENESIS Calling All Stations
Review (Permanent link) by Jack Rydner @ 11:52:48 PM EST, 10/5/2005

3 stars  —  i am a large fan of Genesis in all here the periods. The peoples are hard with the albums after 1977 because are only or almost ear-phones of music right of progressif. When you criticize an album, is necessary that you look at which style of music that it is and not always compared with old the period. For me Calling All Stations is the best album studio since wind and withering of 1976.Duke is good but not in all sound together. It ya of large the songs and others is weak like man our time, turn it one again. Me I am not right progressive a fan, i like rock, pop, and im able to listen good music and difference styles and of analysed. The progressive music has a goal, the pop music has another goal. Not to oblige to make complex music for it is good and people here do not stop speaking about the period of gabriel.I like very much the old period but i like the albums after 1977, the difference not enough guitars and maybe too pop not enough rock.Phil Collins is not rock guy,is a nice guy who likes sings pops and longs tracks instrumental songs but the pops songs are good.Mama, No Son of mine, are great and is not progressive music. The worst track of genesis is who dunnit and is not a serious song. The genesis of collins is good also and I am agree some songs very ordinary but it has much of it which are very good.Phil Collins was better live like voice than Peter gabriel and ray Wilson is excellent as singer into live.Genesis with Wilson woud be could to go more far. Just a album with the young wilson is not enough. He was perfect for the band.Is much darker this album and mike is good as lead guitar.I like the keyboards of tony banks.

is not a prog album, the rating is 3.5 to 4 for that album

gabriel period was amazing but is a style that'it

gabriel has great voice, but in live in the time of genesis for his voice in live is not always amazing, better in solo works for live concerts

Am I being mean or otherwise when I say that MUCH of this does NOT make much sense?

I can translate it... tomorrow.

But basically it's a fanboy review, best prog/jazz album in the world, etc. etc. etc.

Oh wait, I'll translate the words in bold - and, ladies and gentlemen... learn Polish :))) or there's not a chance in hell for you to understand the genius of Memento...
