Personally, I think "Drama" has to be included in the top 3 Yes albums. True, Trevor Horn is no Jon Anderson, but he handles the albums' material very well. Writing, composition and musicianship are all superb on "Drama". It seems to me to be an extremely underrated album. Your thoughts?

Good Choice! I'm not sure whether or not it would fit in my top3, but its certainly better than Relayer, on par with The Yes Album and is definatley the last good thing Yes ever did. Trevor Horn's vocals are no weaker than Jons and at certain times his lack of a yorkshire accent works in his favour. Geoff Downes is a superb keyboardist, bringing in Fairlights and Prophets to Yes' synth collection. He is deffinatley the only keyboadist in Yes who comes close to matching Wakeman's playing. All in all, Yes fans should get a copy of this one... theyll be pleasantly supprised.

Drama, is certaintly NOT better than Relayer, that's not opinion, that's just fact

Great album though that deserves a lot of respect, I love Drama now

nest hour. Then, i got older and my mind developed and i started to listen to good bands like

Well its my opinion. Listen to Gates of Delirium and Machine Messiah in quick succession. one is a complete mess and the other is a well structured, thoughtfull, instumentally coherant, nice song without Pat-bloody-moraz.

Why would you say Gates of Delrium has no structure, it does! and it's VERY well thought out, hence why they can recreate it so well live!!! They can almost do it note from note! It's pretty dam spactacular, so much power in that piece. The feeble minded (no offence) may not be able to get their slow working brains around it, but for those who can keep up with its intense rhythm and energy, well then, its just perfect.

Right, i dont have a feeble mind, nor is it slow. Once i loved Gates of Delerium. In fact i thought Relayer was one of Prog's finest hour. Then i became older and wiser and started to listen to good bands like Hatfield and the North and Soft Machine and i realised how boring, unneccessary and overblown relayer was and only has one good song in the form of To Be Over. Think about it, what does Gates of Delerium achieve that Saucer Full of Secrets doesnt in half the time, and far more effectively?

Finally, in response to another comment, yes, Going For the One is the band's finest hour.

Each to his own - I find Saucerful of Secrets rather empty and boring. Gates of Delirium however, is exciting, edgy and threatening, and still sounds so after 30 years. For me it depicts all the horrors of a modern or even futuristic war; the build-up, the conflict itself, then the aftermath.

Saucerful in contrast is just a lot of repetitive drumming. Sorry but that's what it sounds like to me. It's my least favourite track from Floyd's entire output (Seamus included!).

Oh - and I'm also a HUGE fan of Hatfield AND Soft Machine! It just goes to show that everybody's tastes are different, when taken as a whole.
