Its always seemed weird to me Rush are a band I find most people either love or hate theres little room in between those two reactions to them, my question is how come nobody likes Rush apart from their fans ?   Almost nearly every band has its casual fans but with Rush it seems its either hardcore or its nothing

I don't hate Rush but I don't care for them much,either. The only album I found interesting from them is 'A Farewell To Kings'. I find most of their other stuff to be boring.

yeah, majority of the members love that album, including me.

try Counterparts  or Hemispheres, just a suggestion.

I love them too!!!I've got all their album, and I can assure there are no fillers....all are made of great songs!!!

I like Hemispheres the most out of all the CD`s rush have made infact its in my top five prog CD`s of all time and counterparts is also a worthy mention  , I consider that to be one of Rush`s finest modern recordings

This thread was set up to basicaly allow freedom to talk about Rush .. love them  ..hate  them  ..  or  be  weird  and  just  like  them,  its  all good

NOBODY likes Rush?  They've been around for 30 years and they're still selling out major venues.  I don't think you can say that about any other prog artist.

That's like the old Yogi Berra line about a New York restaurant: "Nobody goes there anymore. I'ts too crowded."

I think Rush are a very good band. However, I think they're are VERY overrated sometimes!!

I totally agree with Slippery on the first post. Just the hard core. Since I first heard Rush, I have seen them as very STRANGE in terms of harmonies and spirits. They don't belong to (hard)blues, new wave or punk in full sense either.

I find Rush the greatest band of all time. :> Well, maybe I'm a newbie-fan, 'cause I've listened to Rush only for about a year and a half, but in that time I've heard songs from almost their every album, and I must say that I still haven't heard a poor Rush song. Maybe some of them aren't that good, but none of them sucks totally.

Never really thought about it. I'm a big Rush fan..

Maybe it's because they're too light for many metal heads and too metal for many proggers. Then there's Geddy Lees voice to contend with, which is not everyones cup of tea. Personally I've always liked it and thought it only got better with age. I dont think all singers can boast that!

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

I love Rush and I'm very happy because my wife does too

I can't tell what album I love the most. I think Caress of Steel  is highly underrated.

Farewell... as well as Fly by Night and 2112 rulez ! And many others...

And at the end, I enjoyed very much the newest live DVD R30
