Help with finding synth samples

   Hi there,
The keyboard player in my band wants to find a way to put mellotron, Moog and ARP sounds into his Casio keyboard.  He says he has a Midi to USB connection, and what I would like to know is how to do this.  Any help?

	What software does he have on the computer? Or are you talking about getting the samples physically onto the keyboard so it can be played without connecting to the computer? (I don't know how possible the latter is!)

	As goose mentions the only way I feel this would be posible is to use something like Cusbase Sx on your PC and use the Casio as a controller keyboard via the midi-usb connector you mention. Have a look here for the sort of VST plugins available for Cubase. http://www.johnrofrano.com/vstinstruments.htm Not unless the casio keyboard you nmention is a "sampling" keyboard? I think we would need more details about the particular model in that case.

	There's quite a few ways of doing this. As long as you have a MIDI connection on your keyboard, you can hook upto a hardware sampler (Akai are a good place to start, as second hand models are going for good prices these days, or a software version ( Iuse Kontakt, by Native Instruments) Then you need the samples of the synths etc.....these can be found all over the net or bought. http://www.kvraudio.com is a good resource but maybe a bit 'electronic' orientated.
