Topic: Metallicas St. Anger.....??? Posted: January 08 2006 at 18:16 |
I know it's been about 2 years since that release but ....
I posted this topic to express my disgust for this "album" (GOD forgive me)
Although I am a huge fan of Metallica, this is the worst album I have ever heard in my life.
I really can't find something worse. I even believe that Load/Reload were "ok".
What is your opinion? My apologies if this thread has occured in the past

hmmm... an album in which one of the greatest lead guitarists of metal doesn't lead? not for me, thanks.

I don't like any Metallica. I especially don't like this. Early Metallica has the influential factor. This album is just useless, to me.

I never understood the hype around Kirk Hammet. His solos are great, but frankly ... as far as innovation is concerned, Hetfield was always better.

I definitely agree with you, but he is supposed to be the lead guitarist on this album...

I think it's a good album (I even purchased it a couple of weeks ago... ). I miss Kirk's solos, but it's a good album overall.

Metallica's music is evolving, innovating and reeinventing heavy metal album by album.
I give them credit for the carrier and for the cut "Some Kind of Monster"
I miss the old Metallica! Oh the glory days before the Black Album!

The beggining of the song St.Anger sounds like a José Cid MP3 available in the archives.

Bigger on the inside.

It's a cool album. If it had been released by any other band, it would not have been received that badly ... most Metallica fans had expected either a return to the roots, something like Justice or the Black album.

Really, I'm sick of Metallica and all their BS. Their music got old for me a long time ago and I find them totally over rated. I didn't bother picking up this album, and probably never will pick up any other Metallica album, but from I've heard from it, I think it's crap. But I love all the St. Anger bashing, so let's just hope for another Metallica album in the vein of St. Anger.

It's not nearly as bad as that. It's just so different than any previous drum kit ...

I agree with Mike on just about all his points. Lead guitar is not a metallica strongpoint anyway, not for me at least. As for the "Black" album, I think its highly over regarded and rather boring.

sounds pretty awful to me, they tried to promote this 'garage' feeling... no success
i find it uninspired
